Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BAML MDs need to take more responsibility

With great power comes great responsibility.

Some MDs in BAML do not derserve their pay. They are not doing any actual work, frequently out of office for personal reasons, and take credit for jobs they didn’t do.

They were unable to bring resources necessary for their team, and blame their team for jobs not done. Besides yelling at people, they don’t have any real talent.

Often, these MDs have close relationship with Head Trading / Sales in their division.

Nepotism is how they survived from layoff.

You can tell how competent and skilled an MD is by the number of Indians from India that he has on his team. If the number is high or very high, then the MD is really stupid and dumb, average numbers indicate that the MD is semi competent and very low number indicate a highly competent MD that knows what he is doing. The reasoning for this is that Indians are cheap and have poorer skills in general and so having large numbers of them just show that the MD has taken the easy way of reducing costs without adding any real benefits but really compromising the quality of the organization in the long run. If the MD really knows what he is doing there will not be such disproportionate groups of Indians present in any one area. Calling it a shortage or skills gap is just a cover up for lower level manager nepotism, and misplaced arrogance.

Bank should let go MDs who can’t manage. If a team has a high turnover and don’t perform well, bank should let go leader of that team. If a leader don’t have good feedback from his team members, he should be let go too.

Lots of trading MDs are selfish and don’t even pretend to care or look after his team. They should be fired.

A good MD will fight for his team, rather than only care about his own personal interest.

Totally agree with this statement:

Nepotism is how they survived from layoff.

Also, got me thinking of ways to rectify this behaviour.
