Managing Director is all about “managing”.

If people keep leave him, that only mean one thing, he is a bad manager.

Better to give his headcount to other MD or Director who can actually manage.

He needs to justify compensation he received by reducing turnover in his team.

It's not the MD's fault in some cases! He may have had to bow to the racist diversity movement from the Obama era where whole areas have been replaced by nepotistic Indians and other groups that now shamelessly guard their turf and ensure their people remain in place. That's the drawback of the supposedly good intentions of diversity. The MD now has whole sub groups under him that do not have and will never have the best skills for the positions as it's more important to have the right diversity mix than it is to have competent people that can actually do things. The new "diversity" managers that are rising in the hierarchy will always ensure that their people get the jobs and so like a cancer slowly strangles its host, so the organization will be crippled and bogged down for years to come. This will only be rectified when the person who actually has the right skills and not the right background, diverse or otherwise, gets the job.

You should never report to someone with zero social skills. One of the rules to a successful career.

People assimilate with those who surround them.

Global Markets needs to track performance of MD.Montag should let go those MDs cannot make money and MDs can not deliver revenue growth.
