Lake Michigan Credit Union. Anyone can join. 3% on checking.
NOT Bank of America!
When I worked at BAC, was happy to tell people that I banked with Chase. BAC employee perks were pretty poor, and I didn't want mess with my credit score and low CC rates that I had taken years to build. Plus Chase sponsors the Amazon Prime card. For traveling - I opened a Capital One checking account. Capital One has a great no/low fee ATM card.
After retiring - I'm shifting my banking to BAC/Merrill Edge. Preferred Rewards Platinum and Platinum Honors rewards are the best in the investment business. BAC retirees automatically get Preferred Rewards Platinum.
You don't have to connect with coworkers :)
Never comes up because who has time for lunch? Or works in a location where they can connect with co-workers?
I'm always a little nervous about that topic coming up or someone commenting that I'm using another bank's card at lunch. If anyone at work really wants to discuss it though, I'd be happy to tell them about all the great best of breed products I'm using from other firms and my disappointment that BAC isn't leading in any of them, other than maybe online banking because our website has always been one of the best.
