In my region I'm seeing a lot of very talented TLs of large teams and long time ASTLs quitting over the past two years. This leaves a void for promotions as the company continues to expand so all of the ASTLs hired recently are from very small teams with minimal experience. All of them at my store and neighboring stores are former seafood, meat, wholebody or bakery TLs who could cut meat or bake a cake well but struggle managing an entire store. They could handle 8 people fine but have no basic grasp of grocery or produce which makes a majority of the money for stores. The other day I was lectured by a former meat TL now ASTL about how he didn't like a required planogram for endcap change over and had no idea they were required because he's never done changeover.
People can say its amazon or OTS but in reality the single biggest issue this company is facing is the brain drain that has been happening for years. Systems need to be dumbed down and WF will become just another Walmart with a nice coat of paint.
