I know someone with a return to work date at the end of September. Majority of us live near a hub on our team, but they are sending us farther than we had requested in the return to work surveys.

To : 7pra...It actually makes sense. All those collaboration BS that Cathy is insisting, is just that - BS. Of course she wants MyWork folks to give up so that BAC would not have to pay severance package. She knows that it is not easy to uproot yourself, either because you have a family, a house, or both.

MyWork was put out there to save money on facilities, improve work-life balance, improve efficiency and productivity, and save the planet from all the commuting-related pollution. So they are either eliminating it as a way to get to people to resign and reduce headcount despite the benefits of the program (it(worked for thousands so far who left voluntarily), or they are admitting it was all a lie up front. Hmmm which could it be?

"I will be told to return to hub office or resign basically. NO SEVERANCE package will be offered."

This does not make sense to me. Why would you volunteer to resign and not get a package? I would assume an option would be to let them fire you and pursue the legally for cause? If you told me that they would only offer 2 weeks severance that would be another matter entirely. But, no package whatsoever and you need to resign. Does not make sense.

Hub cities - depends on your LOB but generally Charlotte, New York, Los Angeles, Plano, Boston, Jacksonville— strong emphasis on Charlotte, they eventually would love to have EVERYONE based there for obvious reasons. 80% of us would never live in Charlotte so good luck with that BofA!!!

MyWork going away for certain. I was telecommuting before there was an official MyWork program (20 years now). Was told during my review there will be a date set (manager doesn't know date yet) but I will be told to return to hub office or resign basically. NO SEVERANCE package will be offered. This is likely in lieu of laying people off when possible. I will resign as I moved farther from hub due to my MyWork position. Not feasible to spend 4 hours a day in a car to get to hub. No whine intended as we all make our own beds. But, my OPINION it's pretty cold for bank management not to understand when you cut a MyWork position, you are severing a position/person and a severance package is appropriate.

Which are the hub cities?

The opposite actually. MyWork is being eliminated and if you’re not already located in a hub city, you’ll be severed

I heard they are going to start asking everyone to move back in the 3rd quarter this year. MyWork will only continue by official exceptions given by management.

During my mid-year review I was told to start preparing myself to be let go. Mainly because I do not live near a core city and there is no desire to add real estate in non-core cities. It was worded a bit differently but that was the essential message.

In the meantime I am being asked to work nights and weekends to help support my LOB. Not very motivated to do that after the above mentioned review session with my manager.
