Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Time to Unionize

Never in a million years would I have thought Whole Foods team members needed to be in a union.

Trust, open doors, collaboration, shared fate, core values, we didn't need a union.

Guess what folks?

It's time.

Time to unionize.

Like other places... If they want you gone, they'll find a way. They'll make your life miserable, they'll set you up.

I don't trust any corporations anymore!

Especially if you're older, you use health insurance and you're costing them money.

It's only going to get worse with Trump in office.

WF is struggling to keep anyone anymore. Even if you are terrible as long as you show up you will have a job.Uniouns promote laziness because there is no insentive to do well. You will get your yearly same raise as everyone else no matter how bad you do so there is no real point to try if a union is involved. We only have a little time before August hits and who really knows what will happen under Amazon then.

Funny how this topic always brings out the TMS folks. Truth is, WFM is and has always been, petrified of unions. Remember when the Madison store unionized back in like 2002? And Mackey sent that long email saying how disappointed he was? Of course, if he was in his stores and not hiking all summer, he may have prevented it. Unions are not great, but they are some layer of protection. How many people have you seen fired for being slow or because your RP just didn’t like them? This kind of stuff would not happen with unions. I’m 50/50 on whether I want one or not but it’s inching closer to me wanting one when I see whats going on.

Ok, TMS folks, tell me I’m wrong and keep ripping unions please!

Anyone who thinks unions are a good idea don't have a clue about unions. Back in the day they were good, they were needed. Now, they are nothing but dues collecting power hungry collectives that don't give a crap about any members or company. Anyone thinking unionizing is a good idea is pretty dumb if you ask me.

It is time, even with only 50000 unionizing we could have a definite impact

50,000 TM x $35.00 per month = $21 Million per year!!! for a Union to represent!! But we have to get the balls to pay and organize.

As sad as it is.. we don’t have that power. Amazon owns us.. as much as I love Whole Foods.. Whole Foods doesn’t exist anymore

Not that anyone has the stones to unionize, but, Yeah, they would just close a unionized store. problem solved.they don't give AF...Then again, when you've got nothing to lose( and baby, we're on "E" ) Why not? Go out with a bang!
