How will they know if you wfh

All my team is in florida and i am only one in texas. So i work from home 3 days a week. Some one mentioned about a 70 hour vpn usage per month policy after which manager gets notified.

How to measure how much wfh one can do?

What monitoring are they doing on badge swipes? Which locations?

From a document that used to be posted on Flagscape but has since been removed:

What is high VPN usage and how is it defined?

VPN data logs are analyzed to produce a three month rolling average of VPN usage during regular business hours. VPN usage of more than 72 hours per month during regular business hours is considered high VPN usage. Regular business hours are 8am to 5pm local time based on the location code of the individual

OP don’t be so obvious about who you are. I figured you out in your first sentence.

When does the clock start on these 72 hours? Is it the 1st of each month? Does last 30 days from the 1st? It would be helpful to know exactly how they are tracking it to avoid being dinged for this.

They don’t monitor VPN hours anymore. Badge swipes are what they count now.

The 72 hours applies to VPN use via Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client. Not sure what Citrix HVD is, or if it also counts as VPN. I also heard a rumor about badge swipe monitoring but it must not apply to my location since I only swipe a few times a week and no one has called me out. Realistically location consolidating is occurring in my group so I don’t expect to be around for much longer, every job is moving to Charlotte eventually (my opinion).

I’m also the only one on my team in my office and have worked from home 3 days/week for the past 3 years with no issues. 72 hours of VPN time per month during your local business hours (8am-5pm) is the maximum. I use a spreadsheet to track the hours to ensure I don’t go over. Work earlier hours since you’re in TX, log off for lunch, and you should be completely in the clear. I also heard a rumor that if you log into the Singapore or Europe Cisco network (instead of North America) it helps although I have no way of verifying this.
