Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Slash and Burn

Was in fund accounting since 2000. Left last year. Constant offshoring of work to India and Poland. Constant system issues. Zero input into system prioritization even though there were weekly calls where the business had "input". Weekends, 60 hours a week. I finally threw in the towel.

The whole industry expects long hours; you will have no life. And then they lay people off so you have longer hours.....

Yeah, outsourcing continues but I think we have different foes (not India and Poland) - we need better leadership and more focus on what matters: employees & customers
