I was left swinging in my department. I had offshore colleagues who were rigid in their ownership of their specific jobs, unable to adapt, and wouldn't include me, wouldn't ask for help even if they needed it.
My manager was logged in from morning till after midnight, she wasn't that good at her job and made up for it by working harder, not smarter. So many times I asked if i could help out, "no, no. I've got it."
So I was left on my own to find things to add value. I positioned myself as the go-to SME for user support on the apps we used, how to submit forms, etc. Waited for the offshore crew to get out of my way at noon so I could start being responsible for stuff. Recently we were re-orged and the new manager seemed really on the ball, and I was thinking, finally I'll be used to my potential.
Sadly no. marked BE and let go. I had so much more to contribute than what was asked of me, hard not to be p-ss-d.
