Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Banking Layoffs 2014

Do you know where I might be able to find more information on Banking Layoffs in 2014 and planned Banking Layoffs 2015? I've looked and was unable to find consolidated information, I'd need something like info on number of people let go, locations, positions, etc. I am primarily interested in layoffs happening here in the USA.

BNY Mellon actually goes through layoffs right now, if you visit Mellon's page on this site there is no discussion on layoffs there.

BNY Mellon had some layoffs back in August, more to come, probably after new year, I have feeling that 2015 will be challenging for BNY Mellon. I am aware of many layoffs in mortgage operations of many banks. Wells Fargo was first to move and they cut around 2000 folks in 2012 I think, or maybe last year. If you check out this site, you'll see that many folks from Bank of America reported layoffs in Simi Valley, that's where a lot of BOFA's mortgage work was. Chase and Citi also had massive cuts on the mortgage side. GE Capital was cutting like crazy in Operations in 2013, not sure what's happening this year. HSBC North America did not have layoffs, at least not to my knowledge. Ally constantly hits IT department, do not have reliable info though. BB&T and AmEx also had layoffs ,nothing major. Capital One was hiring on the credit card side, not sure about the rest of the stuff. RJ Financial, not a bank, but they are in financial services and I guess they have some Investment Banking stuff, they also are cutting on the IT side, there is a ton of posts on the subject here on this website. That's all what I know, I am sure there is more stuff but that's it from me.

When you say banking layoffs, what do you mean? Investment banking, commercial banking, can you be more specific? For example, we have a ton of layoffs on the mortgage side but none on the investment banking side. Two completely different things. Chase, BofA, Citi, Wells Fargo, Bank of New York Mellon, UBS, Goldman you name it - they all had their fair share of layoffs - yet, it all depends in what area of banking you are doing your analysis. So, if you are talking about layoffs in banking, you need to be much more specific.
