DS - Case study on how to destroy a PM org by making a sales director from Slalom (and friend of the CEO) the head of PM

DS has managed to destroy in under 3 months a PM org that may not have been perfect, but was an org that took several years to get to this point and was still in a rebuilding process. DS's plan is to get rid of all the PMs who are smarter than him... — read more

Teradata Cares…About the CEO and ELT

Downright shameful how much they rake in while the ship sinks. The apathetic board just takes their comp for a few hours work each quarter and looks the other way. None of them even know our industry or technology. Would you put any of them in... — read more

TDC - The Walking Dead

Ever see The Walking Dead? Reminds me of my time at Teradata. The zombies are the employees who get axed by the 10 minute HR phone call that appears on their calendar. The rest are just surviving until they get cut. The ELT is who needs to get cut... — read more

Be bold guys !

The 10% RIF will perhaps put TD on the right track to win back and shine again. Who really knows ? RIF is a common strategy to get lighter and quicker while thinking and acting ? And often, it works well. People who are invited to leave should not... — read more

Only when the cupboard is bare…

The ELT will stay has long as they are able to make $$$ on the backs of those RIF’d time after time. But please do remember: “Teradata Cares”.

SM, CB resign

Please resign. With Teradata on your resume, you lack a compelling story for your next employer. Once this role is over, you might only be left with living off the interest from your CDs, having misappropriated funds from Teradata. It’s disappointing... — read more

As if restructuring plan is going to save us

Without a long-term strategy to at least keep us afloat, another 10% cuts in workforce will solve nothing. Especially now when many competent and talented people are already gone. From now on the question is only how long until we touch the bottom... — read more

Resign SM

Your time is up. Return some of you undeserved exorbitant compensation too. You can’t even be honest about the ship sinking. Embarrassing

Shell Game Is Over For TDC

The analysts are finally catching on. SM full of be on new logos. Says they will double in Q3. From maybe 1 to 2! Embarrassing for everyone involved.

The literal definition of Decimation

This is worth reading - the Q2 2024 Earnings Call transcript https://seekingalpha.com/article/4710648-teradata-corporation-tdc-q2-2024-earnings-call-transcript Some points to note taken from that transcript: “In addition to gross margin strength... — read more

Wow. Worse than we thought

So the results are almost all negative quarter to quarter and 2023 to 2024. Ten percent of the remaining survivors to be laid off. What company in their right mind would buy anything from Teradud? It’s going to be a brutal Q3.

How are things today?

Q2 results are bad. Anything related to layoffs?

2nd quarter results

Ahh, cut another 9-10% of the company to reduce expenses. Recurring revenue continues to decline, as does total ARR and cash flow / free cash flow. But hey, at least that leadership team will get more equity to sell.

Get Ready for some heads to roll

its RIF time. I am tensed considering what could happen to my team as I am pretty sure this time there's going to be an impact in engineering at some higher levels as well. Over heard an exec literally shouting in a meeting room at the office on his... — read more

Stock Flat for 15 Years

Talk about underperforming- in a high growth market TDC is $31. It has not really moved in a sustainable way for 15 years! How can the ELT pretend “the strategy is working” - they should resign and return their RSUs. What a sad, depressing company... — read more

What’s Next?

Severance pkg question for anyone laid off this week

First, I'll say that I feel for you guys. This is tough times no question about it. Hope you move on to something much better... My question is for anyone that had restricted stock units that had not vested yet. Did they vest them as part of your... — read more

So many managers bring no value to TD

How are they still here? How do we keep losing valuable employees and these leeches remain every single time? Is there nobody who can do something about this? It makes me so mad to know we have to do the work of several people while they do nothing... — read more

How is Vantagecloud Lake doing?

I left TD shortly before Vantagecloud Lake was released. As I recall, the new architecture was supposed to make Vantage as a service profitable as well as give existing customers a reason to stay with Teradata. Has any of that happened? From the... — read more

Combat Pay For Teradata Employees

We should get combat pay. Not only are we attacked every day by cloud-native non-legacy databases like Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift but we have to battle constant RIFs from our ELT. We either get shot by competitors or our own weak leaders... — read more

Are we done for now?

At least until September? It would be lovely to be in peace for a few weeks at least.

PwC Migrating Teradata to Cloud Native

PwC has an automated migration from Teradata to Snowflake and Redshift. Other consultants are doing this too. “All our Teradata clients want to get off this expensive database”. The end will come sooner than anyone thinks.
