The ideological replacement of reason and the quashing of the debate is spilling over from aspects which are annoying but relatively marginal, such as the diversity craze, into core strategic aspects, such as the direction of travel. There is a... — read more

Classic gems from M.e

“As a CMO, you cannot have fear, you have to be fearless. You can’t blink otherwise the team senses that, other functions will sense that, and you’re dead in the water,” the recently appointed chief marketing officer tells CMO. “You have to have... — read more

Teradata - rated #1 for coming out

I have deals to close by end of year and no new products to help me and no meaningful roadmap! But we use our company all hands to hear about the CSO's boyfriend, how he hired his former employer (very nice), that our new CIO is LGBT, and HR... — read more

Relevance

In its heyday, Teradata was always listed as one of the (if not the) top databases / data warehouse products in every relevant article. Now, there are barely any "mentions". Being listed as a (slipping) Gartner leader is not the same as relevance... — read more

TD Altman Z score is terrible

Just take a look at the Z score for Teradata which is around 1 and has been for many years. The final result is they will fail, either being sold or complete liquidation. The only thing the Z score cannot predict is when. Bye bye

What was the point of the last round of layoffs?

I mean seriously. Did laying off all those workers have any impact on the financial stability of the company in the future? My guess is…NO. Has this actually worked for ANY company? I’d say it only worked for the upper management and above. I feel... — read more

What is Privilege?

Privilege at Teradata is: Being an overpaid ELT member that gets to fire others for your mistakes. Getting the job of a laid off American Teradata employee simply because you live in a lower cost country. Surviving the great layoff of... — read more

SEC filing?

With TDC dumping the consulting business, why no SEC filing? As a shareholder this is a significant change in how TDC does business.

Americas Consulting Delivery Offloaded

Can't be the entire org because there were only about 45 PS people on the call, but we've all been given the unique opportunity to accept an offer with a partnering entity (or decline the offer for "voluntary separation"). Considering there are ~80... — read more

Who is shouldering their work?

Let’s all vow to leave TD

I know everyone here at TD are better off working somewhere else than here. At least we won’t have this f—ing anxiety of layoffs every now and then.

The company has gone nauseatingly PC

The company has been bending over backwards to prove to everybody that it is not racist and that everyone is welcome. Unfortunately, they have not been bending over backwards to be great. Focus on being great and the diversity will happen... — read more

Layoffs/Severance Package

This is no way to run a company!

I'm so f—ing tired of reorganizations that only end in layoffs with no proper strategy for the future. Cutting people provides a short term bump in profits but it also gives the company long term losses that can't even be quantified. Stop treating... — read more
