What's the best age to quit and start a company?

Enough of hard labor for peanuts, I think I have enough experience and skill to start something meaningful. What would be the best age to start a business? 20s, 30s, later??? What age would you pick and why?

EBCE to be crushed

Large number of EBCE to be fired or moved to ITV under the big one.

I need to confess employee review calibrations

Coming out of these management employee review calibration meetings makes me feel ashamed and disgusted. But I have no choice but to play along and fabricate reviews to please my senior executive.

I’ve figured 3-5 years is max one should stay with WF

More than enough to fatten up the resume. Anything beyond comes with diminishing returns. The time before your skills and experience become a burden has been progressively shorter. There’s always cheaper and more convenient replacement. You can be... — read more

Will joining a union actually help save our jobs?

I see flyers in the lunch room and common spaces spread throughout the AZ campuses trying to get employees to start a union. Will this actually help save our jobs and improve the quality of our jobs? Mgt can just lay us off union or not, right???

Early Retirement

WF needs to come up with an incentive for those who qualify for retirement but are not at retirement age. That would clear out so many people and the company would unload cost of long tenured employees who probably hate their job anyway.

Sad Story

A person in her 60s, with a retired spouse, insists on continuing to work despite their age and health challenges. The reasons? The desire to get the 401(k) match, the annual bonus, and because the income is “too good to pass up.” Due to health, they... — read more

Any idea when remote workers should be displaced by this year? Before or after the holidays?

Holiday table time

Can’t wait for the dinner time comments from the drunk mother in law about how everything I own, the food I have the house and car were all bought with dirty money. I hate her and hate her even more for being right. I need a shot of bourbon just... — read more

Layoffs during leave

I know a few people who were laidoff during maternity leave, short term disability and out on PTO for more than 3 weeks. Shartz has no soul. Zero concern for anyone but himself and his bonus.

Anyone else seeing this?

I've noticed that the last couple "Tuesdays after paydays" rounds of layoffs there was a significant number that got downsized on Tuesday, and then a bunch more on Wednesday. I'm not talking about a few stragglers that a manager couldn't make contact... — read more

How does RTO handle PTO and holiday

Let’s say you had 1 holiday and 2 PTO days in a week. Does that meet your 3 day quota? Or how does their methodology account for these days?

RTO pushed me out

I first wanted to wait it out until being laid off. I gave up in the end. They won, but I won too. I used the time in the office to look for jobs, and I found a much better and more convenient option. It took time, but it worked out in the end. I’m... — read more
