Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

All he was saying...

All he was saying was that older employees, who happen to have many years of knowledge and expertise, are retiring and it's sad to see them go. You people just like to invent controversy.

AT&T Advanced Phone for Business

Former Fiber Rep - We were instructed to sell APBA service that was not market-ready. Not only was there a shortage of devices, but features like VOICEMAIL didn't function properly. I ended up receiving over $8k in chargebacks for orders that were... — read more

some of us CWA members at Leg T will be celebrating the surplus announcement as we take the VTP - which saves jobs for younger workers with less seniority - a win/win/win deal.

Long term debt is climbing fast again.

Debt has increased by 7 billion so far in 2023. Watch they’ll mention net debt which is debt minus cash and cash equivalents. Why is debt increasing so fast when our stated # 1 goal is to reduce the debt and at a time where borrowing rates are... — read more

I turned in my resignation

and was offered a re-connection award. I've received the connection award $$'s a few times but what is this? Was offered $7,500 to stay. For what it matters - I said HE11 NO and went to T-Mobile in DLLS.

Has anyone received their Wave 1 letter today? Per Alicia's slide Wave 1 letters go today with off payroll date of October 10 for those not following the job to Dallas. I am expecting mine and curious if they started going out.

FirstNet Comp Changes

I'm a FN CSE and I just heard from my sales manager that our comp will likely be changing in January where any activation processed by an SP will only give us 75% credit. Up until now, we have alway been dual comp and could partner with solution... — read more

Man AT&T sounds depressing and everybody on this board is miserable. 🎶We can build a factory, and make misery🎶

More trouble for AT&T

First time in history that T-Mo has reported a lower churn rate than AT&T. No way around this potential problem other than investment in network and pricing. Bummer for the big boys. “AT&T’s churn rate was 0.79% in the recent quarter. This was 4... — read more

Call for action. Its time to unionize!

I think it's time for the HQ workers to call for a union. The RTO is clearly just another effort to surplus employees. For the workers that are left, its like the wild west to fight for parking and a desk somewhere in the building. We should... — read more

Fire Your Boss

This is AT&T and if you are going to be surplussed you need to know now that your boss is your boss and not your friend. And he probably had a hand in you being picked to go unless your whole team was chosen. You need to call HR and report the things... — read more

401K Question

Someone can confirm this but I think employees are vested in the company's 401k matching contribution once they are at AT&T for 5 years OR if they turn 65. My question is do you get the 401k match if you get laid off - oh, I mean surplussed :/ -... — read more

When in 2024 does the MOA Expire

There has been a lot mentioned about the MOA protecting union workers inside and outside from layoffs. When in 2024 does it expire? Does it only apply to the SE region?

Ring Central said No Mo to Katibeh

No so-called leader from AT&T can survive in the real world. Even the Lily actress got smacked with the AT&T sh-t stick and is stuck doing these lame commercials.

Who has a better personal brand?

Fearless Leader Stankey or... Murray the amorphous cartoon blob that gives away mousepads for not being an imbecile with sensitive company information?

Craft optimization

So, does anyone know what the solution will be for craft people? Everyone is hearing unsubstantiated rumors but nothing factual. Outside techs, inside techs?

Mass chaos in St. Loius

A leaked email says all their jobs are moving to Dallas or ATL by the end of 2024; no revisiting, no looking at data, the jobs are moving. It's been fun watching this organization litterly burn itself to the ground.

sweat Shop

AT&T strives to be a sweat shop of widget producers.

Why are installers so lazy ?

Why is it when tv & internet orders are placed and the box for tech assistance is also checked - our installers fail to do their job ? They need to get off their high horse and pull their cranium out of their external exit cavity region.

Anxiety and depression

Is it just me, or does it seem that anxiety and depression are on the rise among T employees? It's sad how we have all accepted that having our mental health ruined by work is normal and part of life. I've been here long enough to know that there was... — read more

JVB not leaving but being planted

To the person that posted she was going to US Cellular…. You are wrong. She is going to RingCentral before the AT&T buys them out. Just like she did when she left AT&T in 2012 to be the CEO of Cricket. In 2014, AT&T bought Cricket and her to be back... — read more

A voluntary severance package

Since it is obvious that the company wants to quickly reduce the number of employees, why not offer a voluntary severance package? I believe that the numbers of people who would accept it would be significant.
