They want me to be grateful to have a job

A lot has already been said and written here about bad management, but their attitude that we should be grateful that we have a job never ceases to amaze me. Really??? They don't think we're so incompetent that we can't find any other option, do... — read more

Got my RTO letter

Basically says , I have to relocate to Dallas before end of the year. Severance offer will be sent “ sometime in the near future”. Basically being held hostage. BAU

The chaos that reigns at AT&T is by design

Unfortunately, it never feels like enough, because the work culture is so toxic, you always want to be away. The higher you go up the management tree, the less trustworthy and knowledgeable the people are. They treat employees like nothing more than... — read more

Legg Reorg - When?

If there's a reorg in Legg's org, when will it most likely happen? After Sept 1 when RTO finalizes?

Prediction

Within 1 year RTO will fail miserably, and organizations will quietly return to a more flexible work/life experience. Do you know how many times I’ve been forced back into the office, only for them to completely reverse course a few months later?... — read more

I'm pleasently suprised

I've now read a few articles that are calling out Stankey and the entire ELT on their mishandling of AT&T. I know it doesn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things, but it is refreshing to see them clobbered by the media instead of having... — read more

Interesting read on forced RTO by Fortune

If you work under the the Townes Org.....

Expect to work 5 days a week in the office no matter what your title, or what your TW or not. That's the dirty little secret that nobody is talking about, but has been spoken to people who already have been notified. There is a second paragraph in... — read more

People going away

I notice that lately there are a lot of people who are leaving. I'm happy for anyone who gets a better offer and leaves here. On the other hand, slackers and mediocrity are not leaving, only good people continue to leave. What is this company... — read more

Surplus, RTO, Relocations, lies..

This is the worst I have ever seen AT&T treat its employees. We are clearly hated by executive leadership and viewed as a drain on resources. Meanwhile, they are the drain with their golden parachutes..

Leadership communications

Haven’t heard from McElf lately. Stankey only talks to Dallas-based GM and above last week. No word from Welday since RTO announced. Legg talks sometimes. Where’s the leadership? Afraid of hearing from your remaining employees?

RTO Non - HUB locations

I have seen posts indicating that individuals at non-HUB locations will be the first to be required to return to office (by end of 2023) at a HUB location (I assume Dallas). While this may be the quickest way at attaining HC reduction it doesn't seem... — read more

Have you ever seen the JVB walk through the office?

Swings her arms like a freaking person on a cross country skiing machine. I am gonna draw her face with a sharpie with a windmill right below it. Swoosh swoosh swoosh like I am some big shot. A big shot failure that people hate your skinny guts.

Go to a hub

to collaborate with your global team members virtually? It is obvious what this rto initiative is supposed to accomplish,,, as long as he is getting his millions in salary, bonuses and perks nothing else matters

ATT slaps long tenured employees in the face!

Letters went out last week advising remote workers that they would be required to work at a hub location. The expectation is that employees “follow the work”. Many employees would be required to relocate to their nearest hub location at their own... — read more

Can Retirement Eligible People Get Severance?

A colleague has suggested that retirement eligible people cannot get severance, it has to be either retirement or severance? That doesn’t seem logical to me, does anyone know the answer to this question?

How and where we work letter

Just got an email from with the subject “Employee Designation & Location Letter”. It’s starting. I’ve been in Atlanta, and remain there; the letter says I’m in-office effective 7/10. No real surprise here but I thought people would like to know. — read more

Original purpose of this site?

A coworker mentioned this site to get information about pending/post layoff impacts, but most of what I see here is speculation, even when browsing the older topics. Is this the norm on this site? TIA
