sunday
is a good day to get a jump on the week and log on to knock out emails and work items. hard work is how we come back
Manager gave us a motivational speech on Friday
I wish I’d recorded our faces while he went on about “dedication” and “hard work.” Even he couldn’t hide that he didn’t believe a single word coming out of his mouth. I honestly don’t get how these corpos still think this kind of theatrics works. Are they really that out of touch? Incredible. And on top of it all, he wasted half an hour of our time.
D-mbledore fans - Turn on the light
Don’t let darkness go all the way inside you.
Keep some distance from it all. Don’t give it more real estate in your head than it deserves. Keep it little away!
It’s all cyclical. Bad times come then they leave. Nothing stays forever.
If you have a candle around, actually light it. It helps!
Having nightmares!!!
I have been having nightmares since the news broke out, Not able to focus, moral is low, zero motivation to do anything. Not willing to put in any effort until I know my fate next week. I mean whatever happens happens but next couple of days are going brutal!

A motivational and strategic leader. He lead the charge during covid and our response was better than most.
Continuing to march to the beat
"We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
---Konstantin Josef Jireček---
Where’s the motivation?
My job is to sit in a seat for ~8 hours.
There’s one thing I know for sure
Hard work won’t save any of us from being laid off. So take it easy, at least until this round is over. Or better yet, always. It’s not like being reliable and dedicated has ever really paid off anyway.
Deadwood Lead tech BSA looking for thoughts.
Former tech project manager here. Now part of the deadwood population here that is too young to retire but ready to GTFO. Where does a guy like me go? I’m tired of being railed into the ground.
I’m working on a pointless project
And I don’t even care anymore. I’ve given up on trying to make a difference because nothing changes no matter how hard you push. At this point, it’s just about getting through the day, collecting a paycheck, and hoping the next round of layoffs skips my name.
Now the constant threats make sense.

Michael Dell Encourages Leaders to 'Make a Crisis' — Even If There Isn't One Already. Here's Why.
The 60-year-old CEO of Dell Technologies says crises motivate employees and bring about necessary changes.

This is the fastest way to create burnout. Apply pressure with no end while the CEO is on a private 787 jetting between on vacation spot to another. I’m sorry Michael, but this is not playing nice.

Mustang GT3 — Two Wins in Five Months, Still Something to Smile About 🏁
Yeah, Ford’s had its share of rough patches — nobody’s pretending otherwise. EV delays, reorganizations, the usual noise. But every once in a while something cuts through all that and reminds you why this place still matters.
Back in May, the Mustang GT3 owned the streets of Detroit, taking GTD-PRO victory on home turf:

Five months later, it crossed the Atlantic and made history at the Nürburgring with an overall win — one of the toughest tracks on earth:

Two continents. Two legit wins. That’s what composure under pressure looks like. Feels good to see a Ford doing what it was built to do — win. 🔥🏆
If you're on the fence, leave
Leaving was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but it ended up being the right one. The first few months were rough, with anxiety, second guessing, and sleepless nights, but once the dust settled, I realized how much lighter life felt. For anyone stuck in that same place, know that leaving doesn’t make you reckless.
I’ve stopped trying to be the overachiever
When leadership doesn’t care, why should we keep breaking ourselves to make them look good?
No promotions in 2025
Just heard that unless you land a placed positions through the wave 1 or wave 2 selection events at a higher PSG, there will be no promotions this year.
Great news all around. 4 days in office, and no merit based promotions. Really makes things motivating around here.
We are all needed
Is the bs they are telling claims. Even the wfh employees that they are needed. But no promotions or openings for wfh, only in hubs. Very suspicious. Appears as if they are moving jobs to the hub but with 40% of the workforce being fully wfh how would they ever get it all into the hubs? Everyone is miserable and praying for the exit offer.
Your performance rating doesn't matter.
Given that the lay off selection didn't consider a person's performance rating, how on earth does Oracle think they can motivate the employees who remain ?
Well, apart from maintaining a culture of fear and simply telling them that "youre lucky you still have a job".
Thank you for your service .... sorry, no focal again.
The only real motivation
The only real motivation at this company is to not totally sc--w over the counter workers you actually like. If not for that I would do nothing and wait 6 months for this garbage company to fire me.
You Could Try, And Fail.
Maybe your best won't be good enough. But maybe you'll go all in and come out with everything. There's only one way to find out.
Is it me, or do Nike's ads at these times of layoffs, low share price etc speak to themselves...
Sorry for all let go this time.
For those left, you know its only a matter of time
What are the real reasons for this layoff?
What do you think are the real reasons for this layoff? We've all been given the corporate line, but I’m curious how each of you sees the actual reasons behind the cuts. It would also be helpful if people responding could share where they roll up into (I realize this may be sensitive, so please skip that part if you’re not comfortable).
I’m not trolling or fishing for information. Enough has already been said in other threads about the various challenges. I’m genuinely interested in hearing how people think about what’s happening.
Work shouldn’t feel like this
I get that jobs aren’t meant to be fun all the time, but dreading every Sunday and counting the hours till Friday isn’t normal. Why have we just accepted misery as part of the deal? Shouldn’t there be a better balance than this?
Why is claims such a s%#{ show?
This is my third carrier in 10 years and by far the most clueless organization I’ve ever been part of. Too many of the tenured managers don’t care anymore and that seems to be problem 1. Best of luck to those who remain. 2 years has been enough for me.
Ralph de la Vega... where are you?
Come back! Show us a real leader! Let's fiesta!
"I just feel a responsibility to the commitments I made to my team when I agreed to work for them."
Your loyalty and dedication is admirable.
I'm calling Chase tomorrow and asking if I can pay my mortgage with "responsibility to my commitments" instead of real money.
We've had years where there were massive layoffs and yet the bonus was paid out in order to retain those that were not laid off. #Motivation
All the directors and above get their full bonus paid out in September (not a split like other employees). So quite a few will leave right after the bonus is paid out.
Am always a VIP ! ✌️ 😎 ✌️ ... even while I work towards reaching heights of my potential !!!
