Large riff after earnings

Another 10 percent if earnings miss. Kurian doesn't know how to grow a company so he will cut heads to get his stock and bonus

The company trolls this site continually

There has always been a cult like environment at NetApp. Profile over product. Very close attention is paid to this site and posts are made by paid employees to dispute the concerns which are raised. Be aware that there is a process in place to... — read more

A lot of great people were cut

Some say that cuts are performance related, but I would disagree because I know several excellent performers who are cut. Why was cutting them necessary? It's very demotivating.

NetApp E-Series

What's happening to E-Series? I've heard customers still want E-Series products??

Soo exciting!!

Its like playing musical chairs and being excited to know whos gonna left with no chair. Amazing!!

C Level out

One of the C-Levels was walked out, hopefully the start of many more.

GK wants everyone to ask him anything, but they wont?

POS people will ask all stupid generic questions, except for the important question that's dwelling in everyone's minds - i.e. when are the next layoffs? You people couldn't be honest for one hour - you deserve NA and vice-versa

RIF Today?

With AMA tomorrow I fully expected to hear of a RIF today. Anyone have any insight if any groups were let go? I agree the stress around here has been unbearable lately.

Volunteering for layoffs

One should always be prepared because a job is not guaranteed anywhere, in any company, however, lately it's been really stressful here. I've had enough of worrying whether I'll be soon out of job or not. Has anyone here tried talking to the... — read more

Probably one of the worst places I worked at

I have been in the industry for over 10 years, worked at startups and big firms, but boy, NetApp beats everyone of them by a huge margin when it comes to worst place to work at. Layoffs during COVID-19 brought me here and while I am thankful NetApp... — read more

Party was good while is lasted

The party was good while is lasted. Time to look for other opportunities before you get sacked. You may be one of the survivors but automation will eventually replace you to.

No layoffs needed!!

The fact that people continuously speculate about impending layoffs is bad enough, like they say, it's not the actual layoffs that hurt , it's the anticipation. So, essentially, whether you are laid off or not get out of the position from which you... — read more

So……cuts next week?

How is the first week of May looking for layoffs? Bottom performers? I haven’t heard much but I am expecting there to be some reductions. I don’t think they would do them after converge.

Layoffs

Didn’t kurian say they would do more layoffs to get to 8 percent by the end of the current fiscal year? Or were those layoffs already done?

I’ll retool you 😁

More re-orgs; internal eng ops and tooling brace urself. If you doing useless stuff, find something useful to do, like now.

Layoffs were planned A LONG TIME ago

Talked to a SVP. Layoffs were planned summer of 2020 but then the US Government promised relief for companies like NA to give them free loans to pay company salaries. NA received missions in funds and gave 22 million in relief in exchange for tax... — read more

Intern - HW Intern - Accounting Intern - Marketing Intern - Data Science Inter - Automation Wow, talk about cost saving...

Do you have faith

Does anyone have faith in our VPs and SVPs? After having met Harv and knowing Octavian and George I really don’t believe they know what they are doing. It seems like they have no clear direction and honestly I don’t even get the impression they know... — read more

Ex colleagues post layoffs

When they came to know about my axing, they wanted my phone number ASAP from me, but alas, they never called me to checkin on me. I know they don't have to, but why ask for the phone number when there was never an intention to call. GK won't be... — read more

Were there cuts yesterday?

Don't work for NetApp but I woke up to a couple emails from people I know putting out feelers. They said they just got notified yesterday. All marketing people I work with.

Next round shortly before earnings release

The next round will happen about a week before earnings release. This will be to stabilize the price. George has promised investors the stock will not go under $60.

Is this the most active forum on thelayoffs.com?

I have checked a bunch of forums where I thought the activity is gonna be lit, but to my surprise, this forum beats all of them by a vast majority. Man, say what you will, there is a reason why

May is the Next Round

Leaders have been asked to stack rank people again and expecting a May round of cuts. Leaders are now taking all the visible sessions away from subordinates while setting up a scape goat on every team to blame for their failures so they have someone... — read more

Help next layoffs coming soon 4sure

I know they are coming, I've interviewed for 10 positions and everyone one wanted to hire me but said they just implemented a hiring freeze.

Are the next round of layoffs coming soon?

Frankly, I'm extremely unhappy with my job right now and am actively applying to new jobs. I would rather get laid off with severance than quit or be fired. Also, does NetApp put underperforming employees on PIP or just immediately let them go?
