Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Brain drain

Our best people are leaving and nobody seems to care. The average tenure is dropping fast. How do they think this will end?

Just saw Cadence’s job board and it’s wild. They’ve got 116 openings in Bangalore and 115 in San Jose, mostly heavy hitter roles like Principal and Architect positions. They clearly smell blood in the water and are using a once-in-a-lifetime window in EDA history to poach top talent from Synopsys. Things are getting interesting.

Meanwhile, legacy product teams are being starved to fund AI stuff, and it’s getting to a breaking point. On my team, if just one senior dev walks out the door, our day-to-day is cooked. Management doesn't see it, but customers definitely will sooner or later.

@OP if possible try to persevere through the worst of the layoffs till they ebb and the vipers have their rosters set, right when they start weaving their futile and useless plans. Sign up for as much responsibility as believable and then, right when the serpent takes it breath and relaxesexit and leave the project wrecked as possible.

He's too d-mb to realize that when he destroys the company, those stock options and paycheck are going to dry up. But he's got enough money now to not care anyway.

That is not Sassine's concern. He just wants pretty charts for Wall Street. He truly cares about his paycheck and stock options. He doesn't care if the company tanks in a few years. Unfortunately for him, Synopsys's stock says he's failing even at that.
