Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

The Wells Invasion

I’d like to get everyone’s thoughts on Wells Fargo leaders that are taking over in technology. Starting with Steve Hagerman down as old BB&T and SunTrust leaders are pushed out they’re being replaced by folks from Wells Fargo. They keep hiring their friends from Wells for HUGE money and most of them are getting exceptions to work remotely even they are enforcing the policy that all new hires need to be in a Truist office. They seem quite toxic leading by fear and are turning our culture into the terrible culture they created and left behind at Wells.

Starting with the big guy on down, way too many WF hires. Most are people who were not getting promoted at Wells or were getting pushed out by new leadership. Just look at the self-promoting leader of TEMPO who is all flash and no substance, recycling 15 year old playbooks from other large FI’s. Objectively, what has actually been accomplished in the last 18 months by all these folks? Meanwhile, they come around weekly now asking everyone to make more cuts to fund projects that also have not delivered any business value or generated any revenue to offset the significant incremental expense of all these expensive WF hires that aren’t worth a fraction of what they are being paid, from the top on down.

"Well, I don’t hire my friends. Honestly when I took my first head coaching job, I lost some friends. They were like ‘I thought we were buddies.’ I’m like, ‘We are. That doesn’t mean you’re the right fit here.’”

After 5 years at Truist I question seriously what is our culture? Can someone summarize what is the Truist culture?
