Today I witnessed all that is wrong with the human race. All people really care about is themselves, they asked the questions, but all they really wanted to know or hear was not me, not me(this time). However, what I found most disgusting was the thanking and emoji sending of hi---rs henchmen who were send out in force, it made me sick to my stomach tbh, to all the good people who left today I genuinely will miss you guys and I wish you well over the next few months.

@a5 What are you talking about? The stock has shed roughly 1/3 of its value in the last six months and at the moment of this posting the stock is the same price as it was a month ago.
Opentext feels like a stalled plane with ELT desperately jettisoning everything and everyone just to save themselves.

OT executive management has no vision or strategy. Every move is a reaction to poor decisions - cycle of incompetence. Mid level management is focused on trying to appease the dictates of incompetent leaders and building a system of checkbox compliance. Individual contributors find it easier and safer to comply with the incompetence. Innovation is dead.
You spent the time to deeply assess the work histories of everyone cut?
Either you did, and accomplished very little work of your own or you lied for some reason.

@ar because the people who were cut were weak and poor performers. They didn't comply with RTO and believed the company owed them a living. Now they are gone to coast in a different company
The rest of us can move on with the strong performers and thrive
@aq you can try to spin doctor this all you want, developers (not sales), PMs, QA... I have personally worked with people in those roles who were let go today. How can you take glee in all of this?

@aa Low performers--that's a crock. I know of one very high performing developer who was let go; the kind of person who has the vision to make not only good things happen in their work, but who also has the vision to keep going with innovations despite the lack of resources. Your post is a blight on people.

The only thing OpenText is consistently good at is hiring great people and then creating an environment where the only outcome for them is failure.

I'm sure next week's kickoff will be sickening. It was under mark++, where he thanked those let go for their contributions to the success of the company as if they had any choice about being let go.
I find it disgusting to be so glib about this, especially from our resident troll here. These people let go didn't deserve this. OT doesn't do it that way. No one should be so glib, because for all of us left, there but for the grace of God go I.
These folks lives are upheaved. When I was laid off back in 2003, it took me six months to find a gig at half my pay. It wasn't for years that I approached even my base pay, let alone any incentives. My girl was let go back in January. The only job she could get was a third her pay. She had to take it, unemployment was running out.
What's happening today is horrible, and won't help the company whatsoever in the long run. OT isn't too big to fail.
