@12w remember we have Global Accounts Team for years. Led by a French Clown ! 🤡

This fantasy is not new and has never delivered ! An OT customer is not ready to buy another solution from us, he is actually struggling to get rid of the one he bought

@10g It’s hilarious to think that OTX still operates under the illusion that sales people come into contact with their clients different diverse departments with any form of frequency and are equipped enough to discuss Enterprise level outcomes and requirements in markets they literally don’t know and win against fully engaged competitors.

The everybody is a Cyber Security salesperson disaster was proof enough of this delusion.

But here we are.

You wouldn't want to be one of the "Client Executives" meaning products like ITOM, BN and Enterprise Cyber wrap up into your number best of luck with that. No chance to make it.

@t7 way to go..being proactive is key. You are smart in doing this...that new CEO likes to talk about clients vs customers..couple problems..the clients are turning into neutral clients and will soon be leaving..their growth for a SaaS company is sub par and they aren't obtaining new customers..they have no growth strategy and won't..they will continue to shrink...BN is neutral and many clients are leaving or want to leave..I just got my sh*t list of accounts, they su-k bad..the new leadership in this group lacks critical thinking, lots of cheesy one liners and sales bs, I cant wait to be out of here..final interview Tuesday morning..offer Tuesday night hopefully and then I go sightseeing in Toronto and bag this meeting..I wonder if I can still expense the dinners

It’s a total mess and if I was being suspicious the restructuring has been designed to encourage another 10% of sales people to quit. All of my pipeline is now gone, handed over to others. My “new” territory is actually a bunch of dead accts that I had already qualified out. The accts are not strategic at all. They just have big legacy maintenance contracts that they won’t expand. If anything they are all looking for an exit as they hate OpenText. I’ve started looking for another job.

@bf here's your honest feedback. Its too late for a new model...the goals are too high which will force most to leave...products are way outdated...there is no AI strategy...legal is a joke...customer contracts are cumbersome and undesirable...mgt is the worst I have ever been under, VPs that make 10 percent of their number are now running the whole SBU...I have my last outside interview Tuesday and then I'm outta there...looking forward to the Blue Jays game Wednesday night

@e7 CS is all changing. The interim CEO who was in place before Ayman is being exited along with a few other MB people from now through October.

So with the new model, we don’t need Joe F failed CS org? Anyone have clarity on this

Ayman has one shot at turning things around (doubling the stock price). I'm confused why he even kept the sales leaders that ran the show for Mark because they failed too. Maybe he is giving the pres of sales two quarters to show improvement.

A little too late but they are desperate. The old way wasn’t working. Time will tell if the new way changes anything for the better.

@db What sales support roles? Like the CM team that works on renewals and has both a revenue and NCV qouta?

New GTM model is similar to one of our biggest partner; SAP. it's good OT is changing.
The way in which we are changing, Top-down mandated and sellers not involved in their new roles let alone their new patch is ridiculous. Targets also being hugely inflated.
i'm guessing nobody will hit their number or come close to it.

@db not a⁷ but thank you kindly!

Does that mean Sales could in theory have a list of what all we're presuming a sale on?

@a7 They changed sales to follow the model Ayman used at IBM. They increased everyone's quotas in a big way. They set up teams by geography instead of portfolio except for the non core units that are up for sale. They WFRd entire teams that don't fit the model, like OEM, and a lot of sales support employees. Next wave is after the Toronto SKO when they will notify non sales employees no longer needed in the new model.

It needed to be revamped we were too difficult to do business with the challenge is now the winners and losers internally, lots of noses out of joint as people are side stepped from what I see and hear.

This is sad. Opentext cannot get an honest feedback from shell-shocked Sales and is using this forum to source honest feedback. Sales too afraid to tell the front line truth as too many as been layoff for telling the truth.

For those of us outside of, adjacent to, or compelled to support sales: what is this "new GTM model?"
