Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

I'm getting closer to quitting but I haven't quite reached that point yet

I'm curious for those who have already left, what was it that finally pushed you over the edge? Was there a specific moment, a particular incident, something that just made you say enough? Hearing about other people's experiences might give me the push I need.

@ms I'm surprised how many on Linkedin are announcing I've been Impacted and Moving on. Alot more it appears than leadership alluded to this go around.. Layoff's have been cutting Fat for awhile but the Muscle is getting Cut as well and Deep....

@bh and some of the Sabre people I see on LinkedIn is puzzling. No wonder this company is in a state of disarray.

Don’t quit until you have another job. Just wait for Sabre to let you go. This way you’ll have severance and later on you can apply for unemployment if you still haven’t landed a job after a while.

Very tough to find a job in the U.S. unless you have a work visa.

Tbh, if you don't have another job at hand, or some savings to take a break, I would wait. Chance is you will be laid off with some extra cash in your pocket. Just do the minimum an AI the rest - seems like company wants it to work that way anyways...

What pushed me over the edge was the decision to pay VCP in nearly worthless Sabre stock instead of cash. If I had confidence in Sabre leadership that would be great. Sabre leadership appear to be completely incompetent though.

Please do not leave without an offer or multiple in hand. In this market many very qualified and smart people are out of work 1-2 years. I have been a director outside of my time at Sabre and have not found a new non contract role for 15 months. Best of luck and think of your family.
