I suppose this charade is supposed to make me forget that they run me into the ground every week of the year.
Team member appreciation week, the morale survey, and the core value about "supporting team member happiness and excellence" need to go away. We haven't been appreciated or heard for years, and theater like this only makes that fact more painful.
A real week of appreciation would include an end to Store Process, an end to the pointless daily tasks foisted upon us by the clowns at global, an end to labor budgets that allow for only a skeleton crew, an end to the full-time/part time ratio, and an end to wages, especially for new hires, that are nothing close to competitive.
True appreciation from the company would mean that we could feel something other than fear, frustration, and sheer exhaustion.
