Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Dan for CEO

Seeing the Iraq pics on Campus, it looks like Dan Amman will become CEO soon (2026, maybe 2027 latest). His presence was definitely noticeable. And reading his background, he seems next for the CEO job.
Does that mean DW is done soon? With Dan’s financial background, he’ll want an industry leading CFO, not Neil, so maybe finance org will get some relief too. Change is coming!

@hk It's sad that we're having to look for the lesser of the evils on offer. Probably an unpopular opinion, but let's hire someone else from the outside with actual successful O&G knowledge and experience.

If Dan was responsible for Pioneer (a big and good deal ) and Denbury (a small but low return deal), then Dan could be the deal maker EM needs at the top. HE needs to one more solid upstream deal or merger with a smaller IOC. Woodside??? A biq high, quality Iraq deal??? Ven deal?? Brazil deal????

EM is dialing back LCS, so hopefully no more Woke, green deals. Fortunately EM did not overinvest in LCS deals.

EM badly needs deal making capability and DA represents a wall street style approach that is missing in the 60000 person talent pool

@df agree with your comments on Dan but how would Larden be good?

What has Dan achieved since he became the Upstream President? Nothing from my perspective; just cost cutting after cost cutting but the horizon challenge isn’t going to be achieved with Dan. You need someone like Larden in there

It would be terrible if he was in charge. Hard to believe it could be worse but he would absolutely find a way.

When they made Dan Upstream President, he had to Google Upstream to find out what it was.
