Have any ‘managers’ who lost their direct-reports as part of the spans and layers implementation argued for and then received SUB? In addition to job elimination and job discontinuation, there is also a clause in the plan that allows for SUB as part of a “reduction in force, business restructuring, or other similar condition.”
Also, the BNYM SUB Plan allows you to initiate a claim direct with the Plan Manager if you feel you qualify to receive benefits but your manager chooses to not submit you. Has anybody done that, and what were the results?
