Pay raises are gg to be very selective and real increment amounts are low (if any), after factoring in the AWS cut. Call BS if you want, but doesn’t change the impending announcements.

By the way, the layoff % are lower than reported but that’s because you didn’t factor in the PIP and NSI departures. You can wise up and work that in like Reuters and Bloomberg- and you can find that the math actually works out pretty similar.

Few months back before the layoff numbers were announced there were also so many “reliable sources” coming to this forum to share the % cut. I don’t recall any of those numbers to be accurate. Just come here and read about people whines to chill, if you are really looking for career advice, this is clearly the wrong place

@51klz+16zEvLP3 no... its really possible. I was average in my early years and definitely not on management path, low PO. but my experiences stacked up and in the past few years I had roles where I could integrate the experiences.

although I can't speak English super well and still don't really know how to navigate a white-collar world (from Chinese speaking fam, both parents were cleaners), I had very experienced colleagues in the US in recent years who somehow see me. I was so surprised I was ranked outstanding. there are late bloomers in this company. we will never become hi po or get to CL 27, but it's not an EM only issue. society generally celebrates people who bloom early (see PAP scholars turned ministers).

but don't give up on late bloomers just because EM or society does!

@51utj+16zEvLP3 I call BS here. For a 15 year employee, working hard with little visibility to be ranked in outstanding is not possible. The expectations for a 15 year employee is going to be on leadership behaviours so it doesn’t gel at all with what you mentioned

But if it is to align us with industry standard of 13 month aws, does tt mean we will be having variable bonus scheme? That's the industry standard - 13th month + variable bonus (dependent on company health and own performance).
