Unless you are a subject matter expert in a product or a really good developer versed in the latest tech...this place is a dead end.
I work as a program manager and we claim to do agile but we don't. It's a mixed bag of junk and throwing sheeet on the wall. I have moved around in many parts of the company and it's all the same.
You neither get to learn to be a good project, program or product manager. Look at any job description from Google or Facebook or Netflix or Amazon. You will suddenly feel very unqualified. Imposter syndrome? Maybe! But the harsh reality is this bank will not take you to places let alone have a fulfilling career here.
It has gone from bad to worse on so many levels and poor management decisions.
I have started to learn new things on my own and ready to fly this coop and fast! The longer we stay here the more the odor of bad process, tools, and apathy just sticks to us.
Am I alone in feeling this way? The bank has not made any effort to make this place exciting to work at all. Infact they do the opposite.
I'm truly terrified that I'm here over a decade.
