WARN notice

The email states termination date is “potentially” October 23. Does that include the redeployment period meaning if you choose not to participate your termination date could be September 23?

@ah if you wait the 60 days to sign, logistically not possible to pay out in 2025…you have to wait the 7 day revocation period after signature before they even send to payroll and then it’s still 1-2 payroll cycles before it pays out

@js this is wrong, Texas doesn’t require a state specific warn but does still require us to follow the federal warn notification. You should have researched further because chevron only makes these posts and announcements when they’re legally required…it’s not a blanket email to all U.S. it’s only for certain locations based on termination forecasted thresholds

It's about protecting the brand. The state of Texas does not require a public WARN announcement. I remember someone posting that a few months ago and I looked it up. He / she was right, the state of Texas does not require it. Chevron is all about the brand, "Hooman Energy" and all that $h!t....
Funny part about it is the "Injuns in the Engine" think they are getting jobs with a good company. Drinking the Kool Aid, like Jimmy Jones was handing out in Guyana back in the day at the compound.

The question is have again is why isn't the number of employees to be let go in Houston being reported to the Texas workforce commission? They didn't report in round 1 either for Houston.

Don't forget to apply for unemployment benefits once you are off the payroll. Texas - the weekly unemployment benefit amount (WBA) ranges from $74 to $591, depending on your previous wages, for up to 26 weeks.

I think you may be able to delay your severance until 2026 if you do not turn in your agreement until mid December. The last paycheck of 2025 is paid out on December 22nd and if they get your signed agreement on December 16th, or so, then the severance would be paid in 2026. This would reduce our taxes by not having the extra income paid out in 2025.

@ah there’s going to be a 7-day mandatory grace period after you sign your forms and a slight delay from payroll. My advice would be to sign the forms close to that 60-day deadline so that the severance wouldn’t hit your account until 2026.

These a--holes couldn’t be gracious enough to make the last day on payroll be Nov 1 to give employees medical coverage for the entire month of November. And if the last day on payroll (your termination date) is Oct 22, and you must sign your forms within 60 days of your termination date, that puts it at Dec 22, missing pushing the severance to 2026 by 9 day. Jesus Christ, could they fu-k us over any more??? It’s like they asked McKinsey how to inflict maximum pain on employees, doing their worst. It keeping it just shy of illegal actions. I really hope in karma for these mofos.

That Oct date covers the redeployment period. If you’re left standing, you will be out by the week of Sept 22nd and then followed by the redeployment right away.
