Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Sudden spike in support for RTO here

I am noticing that whenever people complain about the RTO suddenly seeing people who are like a-holes about it and being supportive of it which wasn't the case earlier.

Is there like a sudden spike in trolls or ragebaiters?

Also nobody being happy about RTO makes sense and linger on especially when the company has been lying about promising remote or hybrid work but instead they are just effectively trying to ki-l it. Plus the facilities are not in good shape and monitoring in place shows that they just want to control which is another reason to be mad about.

@r4 I don’t have a stake in this, but it seems this person is occupying an unusual amount of your attention.

@gp Why are you still under the misunderstanding that everyone is equal? Worry about yourself and your role and you will advance too.

@gp - Find a job elsewhere. You'll be a lot happier and glad you did.

Why isn't the EXACT CRITERIA for determining "REMOTE" status documented anywhere in Truist's HR policies? It only says speak with your Manager! No!!! There should be clear, documented criteria to qualifying to work remotely. Also, remote work is a practical, data-driven necessity for Truist employees in large metro areas (i.e. Atlanta, etc), where time, not distance, defines commute burden. Atlanta commuters average a minimum of ~39 minutes one way, meaning an employee can live just five miles from the office and still spend 39+ minutes traveling due to congestion. That equates to 70–80 minutes OR more (round trip) of lost productivity per day with no business return. Some teammates average 1hr or more EACH WAY just to meet on a laptop! Remote work makes sense. What's wrong with Truist leadership? Why is this difficult for them to accommodate? Is anyone in HR raising these issues?

@c4

That's the best you can do? 😄

How about you trundle on into the office like an obedient little worker drone, to collaborate on a more suitable response?

@eq Teammates cannot be trusted when they foolishly cling to the belief that everyone is equal. Filipino agents contracted at pennies on the dollar are more than glad to have a job with these restraints though.

@ep I believe the real reason for the focus on RTO is projection of leadership. They act as if they can't trust teammates and they need to be in office to be managed and productive when that isn't true or data based.

It is a projection of leadership's own inner thoughts and mentality because they are untrustworthy and unproductive so they project that onto everyone else.

The facilities/offices are going to be he-l for this RTO - not even factoring the space/parking limitations. They were already awful with the d-mb 4-day mandate in place. Going to be a true cesspool, in more ways than one.

I don't believe the ones who post on here about fe-----o and "working hard" even work here. Who talks like that? No matter the issue or discussion, they post about those topics. It either an aggression based AI used to derail threads or some truly stupid people.

I've seen them make their insults in the wrong threads. If it is HR, wow, they go to a vent forum and post like a 6 year old.....what is the point and goal of that?

It can't be a real person.

Banking is kaput. All online now. Being done in Manila and Pune till AI is fully ready. More parking spots available at banks everyday than a used adult toy store

Yeah, some of y'all are too wrapped up in where other people work. Are you that desperate for some fresh farts to sniff, as you hang out in the restroom?

Seems a little creepy to me.

Banking is a messed up industry. You have to be desperate to work in banking.

@an With a vocabulary like that, it is obvious you’re an unhappy person —and why you devote so much energy to complaining online and positioning yourself as the victim.

@a9 people are also tired of the non stop gaslighting that's happening throughout the industry especially by people like yourself. So kindly shut the f**K up and keep the nonsense to yourself.

I guess u are a real wfh hater who loves to see people's misery in person or maybe u dont love ur wife and kids and just want to stay office under the guise of culture and collaboration hence u seem to be in favor. How pathetic u and ur life must be.

@OP Let me get this straight: pointing out that people are expected to follow the policies of a job they voluntarily keep—and are free to leave at any time—is now considered trolling or rage bait? Meanwhile, some of us are simply exhausted by the nonstop complaining from people who would rather play victim than take ownership of their own lives. Interesting.

@OP Banking is a professional industry and you're shocked that the majority of Teammates understand how to be professional and come to work?
