Layoffs happening right now.

Just a number…. Your lottery will come up soon. If not in bankruptcy.
Better to go now and get ahead of the race to bottom
@m5 No Confidence?? The stock has gone from sub $1 to $6.50 today and as high as 11.50. Layoffs are not isolated to Lumen. Tech is getting ripped with layoffs. The board's number 1 concern is shareholder value. If the stock goes below $3 and stays there, then maybe the board will consider. But Layoffs and stock appreciation is rewarded by the board.
I think bargained for employees will be lucky to get another 2 years. No datu. Fast never works,no tech mart,no click 2 chat, tech2go gone, new system su-ks and doesn’t work, 10 days out on repair not including cable tickets, not fixing anything,abandoning and disqualifying plant. New managers every 3 months. Place is a sh-t hole and still have to try and make monthly numbers while driving from one side of town to other.
So does anyone know how many total employees lumen has now ?
Princess literally just said this in a recent interview too. The board hired her to "pivot" the company. The company was about ready to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy and be split up.
Wait. That sounds like today.
There isn't enough revenue in their services with no plan B.
How much money is being wasted by putting everything in the cloud. So AI can do everyones work at some point.
@m5
Shes doing exactly what she was hired to do. Dismantle a company, send it into bankruptcy and emerge as a new company with low overhead and no debt.
@k7 We hear this same message during every call with KJ.
LUMN is moving to the cloud in a reckless manner. By shifting old technology to the cloud without modernizing to retire technical debt and use cloud ready approaches. OpEx is increased using this IaaS approach and the only way to cover is to eliminate jobs.
LUMN IT is run by individuals who just hide. The whole move to the cloud management chain just mails it in.
@k7 Don’t disagree, but look at history. How many companies with great networks have been broken up and sold by pieces. No one is questioning employees resolve or the network. The only question is it time for the Board to vote “no confidence” in KJ?
@k7 you are delusional, unless you are one of KJ minions who benefit from being appointed into a do nothing high paying gig. KJ will break up the company and sell it in pieces
@c2 the company is in better financial shape than it has been in a long time and has a great future in providing the backbone for Enterprises and AI I don't think many people realize the extent of the network size and involvement with large companies and government
Lumen hired the leaders they wanted and not the leaders they needed.
A revolving door of VP hires.
Wasting money on 20 year old tech.
Lift and shift to the cloud rather than modernize.
Leadership is defined as cutting your way to profitability.
Lumen manager posting for CS role the day after those titles get hit hard by RIF. Bonus points to Lumen for posting the job req on the external facing career page the day of the RIF, real classy.

@ff interesting princess, because we can point lots of this to the hard right L3 tool previous to her. She’s adding to it, but storey got pad way more than than her and did worse
@ej She's destroyed what used to be a great company. Typical PNW liberal diva.. whatever they touch turns to sh*t.
Funny, I see Lumen posting to hire people in the very same functions that they just RIFed
@ej share price is absolutely tanking today
This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.
Lumen needs to reduce head count by 2029.
Lumen bean counters are carefully calculating how many to keep enough to have operations moving before the final head count.
@cs she should be ashamed of herself. She is running the company further into the ground than it already was. I bet the share prices will continue to tank because of her.
Keep being told about transformation journey of Lumen from Transformation Office team but it seems more of a demolition
@c0 You didn't say anything about "rumble" or "the arena."
and this is while Kate is being paid $25 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!!!! But sure, lay off hundreds of people.....
Looking at annual report from 2022 to 2026, Lumen workforce was reduced by 25% since Kate took the reins. Just fact. All her buddies came and left with bucks. I swear I’ve never seen anyone drive a company into bankruptcy quicker than our fearless leader. She’s not fooling anyone in the trenches.
this is why I show up at work each day and simply go through the motions. This leadership team could give a fook less about any of the workers, so why should I give a fook about "the company". If they knew how to run a business and make it make money we wouldn't be in this position. I feel bad for all affected today, and in days to come. We all know it could / will be any one of us next. It is impossible to have loyalty or respect for this company. There is no culture here, just smoke and mirrors.
Perfect title for the next Brene Brown training " How to let down your armor and survive RIFs"
@b1 the previous CEO was a selfish a-hole. He's the one who decided nobody gets even cost of living raises ever again, then left taking multi millions with him. The new CEO brought lots of gaslighting and chaos with her.
@bk what department was your husband in?
Tma. Too many acronyms
Yup my husband got hit today after over 20 years.
Any competitors want the inside scoop? available now and know you're out there!!
OM in LE and SLED got shafted
@OP
They are wiping out CS, SE’s and huge swaths of the LE business support, UCC & Cybersecurity, ain’t no Anthropic or Fiber Firesale going to fix that back office s*itshow…. 4 different business ops Infrastructures and platforms running behind Salesforce as the band aid and only one works semi right…. For gods sake They’re still running Global Crossing infrastructure…. It’s sad, there are a lot of good, smart people there and it’s not a people problem…. The previous CEO was a good ol’ boy grifter on a good day and it’s pretty much his fault.
Of course - they need to layoff the higher quality dedicated workers so they can make room for more poisonous management.
All notifications have gone out. At least that is what the manager stated.
I heard customer success for CTG was impacted. Lots of people who have spent their entire career at Lumen.
Today proves that a broken squirrel finds a blind clock twice a nut. Good job.
Fu--ing sh-t a-s company
@as Agreed 100%!
I’m so sad for those I care about that were impacted. That said, employment at Lumen is a toxic relationship regardless of position. They gaslight you and make you question your own value and abilities. Then they wack you at the drop of a hat. Take personal accountability for your happiness and careers……GET OUT!
any more updates? are they done yet? this has been a lot!! so stressful!
Security overlays too.
