It was announced that the third module of training (where they want a 6 PAGE AI “thing” you put together and send on to another group for approval—-!!) was delayed until next year. Also, all of a sudden, AI isn’t mentioned in meetings and a new AI crud tool we were using begrudgingly has no deadlines. Are they realizing that AI isn’t working? I have seen so many articles/videos from tech experts and CEOs admitting it isn’t helping.

I asked Eliza how to unlock ldap and it just told me to call help desk....
BNY does not utilize AI; rather, they employ Long Language Models, similar to what many financial firms and technology companies are reporting in the media. When RV participates in media interviews and claims that Tesla's self-driving vehicles "inspired" his investment in AI at BNY, it is misleading. These technologies are fundamentally different. If RV genuinely believes that Eliza operates on the same principles as autonomous vehicles, it would be prudent for someone to offer him a bridge in New York.
The 18-20 months of BNY press releases promoting AI investment provided the firm with material to present to the media and Wall Street. It is well understood here that if BNY had devoted 2.5 years to press releases about their ongoing offshoring of operations, quarterly layoffs in both the USA and UK, and their abandoned, listed, and sold real estate, alongside 1.5 years of coverage on employee lawsuits and their reputation as a predatory employer, it would present a vastly different narrative. Similarly, 1.5 years of press releases emphasizing fictitious employee evaluations would alter outside perceptions of BNY significantly.
When the current era of LLMs (marketed as AI) concludes, so too will BNY's recent media efforts. The firm will persist in profiting from offshoring, downsizing, and reducing employee benefits while simultaneously increasing their costs. They will continue to reclaim as much as possible from staff through false PIPs and aggressive cash grabs from 401k plans. However, at least this "AI fog" will dissipate. Ultimately, BNY will revert to being a mundane, poorly managed custodial bank, characterized by uninspired leadership that are eager to sell their stock options before the market dips in '27.
Cheers to the dip (and future pressers of NEW BNY EC) in '27!
@ek Just wait, RV will go on CNBC, MSNBC and Fox Businees shows to sell investors on BNY’s “amazing culture” as the growth engine for the stock price growth! He will keep plucking the same. banjo string until his target audience turns completely tone death. Spoiler alert: BNY associates already know the real truth.
Remember, RV Is the consummate “snake oil”salesman. He’ll probably pivot to promote the company’s investments in AI infrastructure, cloud computing and storage as the keys to taking the company to new heights vs. being able to show any actual measurable ROI results from AI investment, right LAR?!
RV’s such a great liar and master of hyperbole that at some point, even his sales options will run out and new business development and client retention and renewals will not yield expected results.
Happy 4th everyone! Be safe and happy 250th anniversary!
I had heard that BNY spent their 2026 AI budget.
Given how the AI bubble is on track to burst, BNY has nothing to promote.
AI at BNY is complete sh--e. I landed at a new org last year and their AI implementation is a 1000 times better. For example, you can choose different models instead of being restricted to Elazy. Hopefully she received a BE for her mid-year and will be pip’d by year end.
turned out to be more expensive and less effective than humans
Running out of money for it!!! And——
Only at BNY can AI’s purpose be twisted and warped into an excuse to try and fire people.
Forget about making the business better or developing something good to justify the cost of this boondoggle. To BNY’s seniors, all AI is, is a way to make excuses to get rid of people.
And then the true AI really comes into play:
A-dding I-ndia!!!
Ok—I have noticed this, as well. Our meetings used to be “AI AI AI” droning on and on. Lately, they never mention it.
Things that make you go “hmmmm”…
Also- it has been of 0.0 help to my group.
Yes. Per a comment on a thread below: “•••
Depending on where you work, the company has absolutely told people to do AI training, but not as directive as it could have been.
I know everyone on my team was told to get it done before year end, but that changed yesterday.
Certain areas had a hard deadline to complete three phases of AI training before year end, but the third phase of that program was suspended early on and it is currently being reworked. The first two phases might still be due by end of the year, Q3/Q4 it said, but the third phase is now slated for some time in 2027.”
