Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Will the fear ever end?

I'm more stressed than I've ever been. I don't know if we'll ever get to a point where we can just focus on our work again and not have to think about layoffs every two weeks.

This is a feature of working at WF, not a bug or an exception. Smells Fargo

I have been gone nearly a year and it took a long time to wind down from the toxic culture. I held on for the severance package and am glad I did though my nerves were shot. Counseling helped.

I have a co-worker who took the relo package to CLT because they didn't have much of a choice. I can retire so I'm just waiting for the package. What's so very sad is that I can see my great friend and co-worker is simply being led to the sla-ghterhouse. There might be a job there for them for maybe 1-2 years and then it will be over.

Has to be one of the top 5 worst companies in America. I wish nothing but the worst on this regime of thugs and criminals. Just horrible people.

That's the company culture.
It will not change.

@ba I so wish they would take volunteers - under the same severance package.

While the constant churn of layoffs make for an absolutely unhealthy culture and atmosphere at WFC presently, do not let the fear of being laid off derive you of actual quality of life such that you're mentally or physically suffering.

If it is, begin looking today, this very minute, for another place to work. Your health, and your life, matters more than WFC- or any place of employment, for that matter- does.

I don’t think it’s ever going away as long as we’re working at WF. It’s been four years of payday layoffs. They won’t stop. I kept the stress at bay until recently and it’s taking a toll. You aren’t alone. My manager pretends everything is fine and that just makes me hate the situation more. At this point, I would be grateful for a layoff but it’s not like they accept volunteers.

@ak i agree it took 1 year for me as well. I thank God I am no longer there! My mental health is clear and calm!
I value myself! I am grateful and proud of myself again! Like I was before entering the doors at WF!

Reminds me of the ‘Hunger Games’ workplace, a toxic environment where management deliberately engineers artificial scarcity, forced competition, stack ranking and a ‘ki-l or be ki-led’ culture to control employees. I am a casualty of that. I am glad I am no longer there and took a while to get my mental health back.
