I'm wondering if there are any decent managers still around. Mine barely rates a 2 out of 10. What about yours?

Now ex DXC, but my previous manager there was appalling and could have been replaced by a 7400 (quad 2-input NAND). Least that could make 4 logical decisions, and all at the same time!
One brother who is a senior manager who looks after his younger brother.
HR are aware of them both but refuse to do anything.
In CES everyone around me is a solid 2 with the odd 0. Only way to survive is be Indian in Americas, ex army in UK or ex Accenture
I left 12 months ago from a delivery role so things might have changed.
I worked on a specific secure account rather than being leveraged across multiple accounts and to be fair my manager just let me get on with it. Yes, had to have the twice yearly reviews but basically he had to take my word for it with the glowing feedback.
When I wanted to leave he put me up for VR and it was approved within the week.
I had no complaints with my direct manager for reasons above and was grateful for the VR but above him, grossly incompetent, all of them !
@OP mine is a patronising bully. He talks at you, like you’re a 5 year old. A few colleagues have challenged him only to be threatened with discipline and meetings to discuss concerns with his boss (another useless to55er). They were quickly removed from the account, a few are off work with stress because of his attitude. If we had a competent HR I’m sure grievance claims would be stacking up but it’s not worth the hassle. Best approach is to just ignore him as much as possible. Teams calls are excruciating as it’s clear everyone thinks the same. Just hope he has his day in the future.
Mines a solid five. Guess that's "meets and sometimes exceeds" rating.
She's a director grade.
I’m no longer employed at DXC. I was one of the many made redundant. It is fair to say the management at most levels are absolutely appalling. Replace them with competent people and things would improve
