Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

We can't handle more layoffs

This was said by other people as well, but I have to reiterate. We've lost so many people that the rest of us are drowning. We can't lose anymore. Unless their goal is to get all of us to quit. In that case, job well done.

@eg yes have a candid conversation that you want to be on the next RIF list, saves them from trying to figure out who goes. But be prepared to be treated like sh** until the next one.

With almost 10 years at the company it sounds like I'd be getting 20 weeks of severance pay based on what I'm hearing from others. I'd love to get out of here but haven't heard anything yet. Is there ever a process for signing up to be part of a RIF, or is that ever an okay thing to bring up to your manager?

It’s called “quiet quitting”

The company makes working so hard and obnoxious that you quit, saving them the trouble of paying severance, etc.

Common ways they do this are through initiatives like return to office, more work with no pay increase/promotions, unrealistic expectations…

I think that is exactly what they are trying to do. If we quit they owe us nothing!

They want you to quit. They don't care if you are drowning. That's just less for them to have to deal with.
