Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

@2p7 I hope you realize "your IT" staff was outsourced to HCL. The American staff with an average of 15 years experience was let go with people I interviewed to replace my job. We would ask them questions, their microphone would go silent while someone next to them looked up the answer, the mic would come on and they gave us the answer. Occasionally, they forgot to turn off the mic.

Then, there were times we hired someone, and a different person showed up for the job, wittge same name, 2 weeks later

Such a bunch of whiners. Get your behind back in the office like everybody else in this world has to do. You are not entitled to a job - you have to earn it. No wonder our IT is terrible.

RTO mandates are just another tool to weed out people! There is going to be more RTO mandates, more reductions of benefits, more forced reassignments, less pay and the spiral down will continue! This company is total trash and the people running it are soulless, evil people that represent what's wrong with just about everything in our society!

Who is ready for four weeks a month of in office three days a week how does that sound everybody? Hey especially those that move to a hub and now you’re looking back at your buddies who are still remote and they never have to go into an office once and it’s been six years.

Why wouldnt executives move on quickly? We are not a family based company who cares about its employees. Come here, accomplish the short term goal, get a big bonus, move on, Tipsord set the path forward on this. Make sure to leave before long term issues pop up. Rinse/repeat until the reserves are dried up and company bought by for profit company. This is what the board and Rust jr wanted. "We cant afford to be a quality insurance company based on family values anymore"....and we are not, and as such no longer a leader or #1. Shame we gave up, but wasnt my choice, and not like we all didnt protest every step forward to becoming a middle of the pack insurance company.

Couple more decades? You have about 3-5 years at most!

@27h socialism dictates that the individual owns nothing, it will be owned by the "collective".

In order to get there, we need to prevent the younger generations from aquiring "real" property, and as the older generation ages, create high inheritance tax so that it cannot be passed down to the younger generations.

We are well on the way to achieving these goals, it will just take a couple more decades.

Hang in there!

I saw an article recently about the forever layoff! Constant firing/layoffs and constant hiring! Gives the illusion of growth and keeps them off the legal radar or bad PR for layoffs. Also, the future of employment and our society is that you own nothing, have no security in anything, and you will have to change jobs every 2-3 years. State Farm is a horrible place to work and anyone even considering it or even the insurance industry just find something else. It is worse than you can imagine. If I was a remote employee, had tenure or was a white male, I would be getting ready to be shown the door! The force out has been going on now quietly for years now, it just getting more obvious now!

State Farm is due for a whistleblower just like the pharmaceutical industry. They have lost their way.

How are severance offers coming to wfh claims in August when the common timing exit offers are in October and April? Sounds like more nonsense. What exactly do you know?

@z6 For years I was told that if I wanted better I could always find a new job. So I did.

My advice to you is a movie quote. "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."

@z6 sorry partner but State Farm has created this mess. When will State Farm ever admit their policies and behavior lacks thoughtfulness to its customers and employees? They don't! It's all about me...the opposite of what they preach.

Yes, sometime in August. Why you think they are making everyone from VP down update their Workday profiles including updating their relocation preferences! We have all seen this story before, they just reassigned almost a hundred people from U/W to claims, tons of people are getting moved to the field in Fire and many other jobs are going to be outsourced or eliminated through AI....

Is a move to the hub or take a severance coming to wfh claims? When this year?

by

Post ID: @yb+1kwy6zqm5

I would sign the severance document in .007235 seconds and book a beach trip! That sh-t hole place is a disaster! Tons more changes coming this year and what you are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg. JF will be worse than MT....claims is only going to get worse and worse!

@xm well you missed the point of that. if they present the option to employees to either relocate to a hub or take a severance, too many people know now how the story ends and it's not a fairytale ending. so they will take the severance.

@qw nobody but a fool is about to fall for the "move to a hub to keep your job" ploy again

@qw From your lips to God's ears. I would welcome being replaced by a new hire in a hub.

Sorry, but some of the comments here look like spam. They are generic enough to be about any company. Seems like a bunch of non-State Farm people trolling.

Remote employees I would get my resume ready, they are about force you into a hub or replace your job in the hub. They want everyone connected to a slave hub city! They are purging anything that is left of the old SF, and remote employees are the last of that connection. It reminds them of their complete failure of a business model and does not fit into their burger flipper hiring strategy.

I moved across country and don't regret it a bit. What I do miss was only the job I once had. I was able to retire at 57 while I watched all the other su-kers work to 65 because of multiple (up to 5) divorces, alimony, substance abuse and so on. Don't miss it at all!

@qe I had a hotspot wifi from work. I was able to go anywhere, have the laptop in my backpack, checking for email, sit in restaurants. Best ⁴ years of my working life.

That's your own stupidity for moving across the country for a job. Especially with this stupid company.

Ahh new hires posting, the force out has been going on more than 15 years. This isn't new, unfortunately.

But hey at least they are not closing offices and forcing people to move across country only to turn around and let everyone who didn't move stay WFH while those who did move cant move back due to in office requirements.

When you hire check the box burger flipper workers and pay them nothing, don't train them, they have no clue what they are doing, too stupid to figure it out, fire all of them every 2-3 years and you don't pay claims....easy to increase investments and net worth! Also if you rig the numbers and collect too much in premiums ....that is the definition of going woke and running a scam to increase net worth...."broke" is just not about the money....

@fc State Farm's net worth went up $25 billion to $170 billion in 2025. Perhaps their motto is "if you go woke, you get rich".

@OP I remember when SF got rid of 1000 IT workers and replaced them with Indian HCL employees. I also remember claims and all the other call center people saying, GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE OVERPAID PEOPLE.

Hmmm, I just wonder.

Get your Workday updated! They are about to clean house again! Harkens back to the past when they cleaned out Auto and Fire claims before future state! Purged the CM/SMs.... Automation is getting U/W folks out the door! Growth is slowing ....agents are p-ssed! MT and JF destroyed the SF brand, the regulators and politicians are after us now, and the negative on-line posts are plentiful! The Burger King workforce and check the box leaders are expediting the demise! Well deserved SF, it was a train wreck we have seen coming for a long time! Just pay the severance .....please!

@ef I also figured out that management's template fixation was because they were feeding AI. Same as the CX Live emphasis even after COVID. They wanted us to keep doing that as much as possible when a just a photo or two or phone scoping would work. Plus enter measurements and scope in there. Anyone who uses the file note templates or CX Live is training their replacement.

State Farm has learned (or maybe not) if you go woke you go broke....it started about 20 years ago and accelerated during COVID. Everything and I mean everything, no just at SF, has gotten worse. Some people can connect the dots and some can't! Decade after decade lowering the bar to accommodate certain groups of people, finally catches up with you. Easiest lesson you learn in life, you always get what you pay for! No shortcuts in life! Karma is a b-tch SF! The fatigue is real!

@aa @bd This is all the 2000 workforce's fault! If they never hired them, then we wouldn't be here now. They made terrible decisions and were terrible people, then they had terrible children who were not left behind.

You see how d-mb that sounds? You probably don't.

Maybe 2040 will swoop in and save the day, because they can't do much worse than the Boomers have!

Remember folks that is the plan! If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck! They are running a burn and churn, pump and dump scam! Get you in for a couple of years and run you off. Keeps salaries at a minimum, your PTO time down and little to no 401k match..... Basically you are trash to throw away everyday! Every word out of upper leadership's mouth is a pure lie! It not your TMs or SMs fault as they have zero authority to change anything structurally at State Farm and if they try to, they are labeled as trouble makers and their lives are made more miserable then it already is. Leave this place, it is a total complete sh-t hole!
