Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Hiring For Roles They Just Fired?

How can they lay off AMs, while turning around and immediately adding new AMs?

It seems like what might be really happening is CDW is trying to re-set the payroll with lower paid employees and foregoing the experience, expertise and customer relationships of AMs who were paid more competitively.

I’m sure that’s also happening in other departments.

What could go wrong?🤦🏻‍♂️

@fx
You support someone whose leadership and decisions have cost 1000's their jobs, livelihood, health insurance, etc

Instead of holding herself accountable or her circle, her and her minions passed along and spread that accountability across the actual people that made the place run. Did any C level or VP's take pay cuts or forego stock options or bonuses????

Spew your adoration to those who were fired and see what they say. Save your sympathy for them.

Ohhhh poor CEO...best thing she can do is retire and go enjoy her blood money. Woman literally ruined families.

@g0 I accepted today for 55 thousand base and the stock options . I probably make less because I live in OKC which is cheaper. I know it is low but I am excited about the potential. I worked in sales for an IT company during the summer in Austin where I lived with my parents when I wasn't at OU. i can't wait to get started. I will be spending 8 hours a day until my start date learning the industry and the competition. I have to hit the ground rolling. It seems it won't be difficult to beat the current employees. They seem butter soft and loaded with BS excuses. The racist thing is really troubling. I live in OKC now and it is considered the south but if I hear that, I will personally turn him in and then tell some friends I know about him and they can "talk" after work.

@fv I was hired for Seattle and make a little more salary than all of the new hires that provided their salary but I worked for two tech companies while in college and I was offered a job with them but CDW had more flexibility. I was an intern with them while in college but was paid commission for my sales. I think I was offered more because of where I live. It is very expensive here. That and I can bring two large customers right away were I have relatives working.

I agree with all of you new hires. The current employees on this board seem weak and loaded with excuses. I hope I am trained by my manager and not these types of fools. The racial remarks are very troubling, especially in Seattle. If I hear anything like that I will surely turn them in.

@fv We loved her. She was an brilliant lawyer and compassionate leader. She is definitely a fish out of water and we still cheer for her but we cringe at some of the decisions. I hope you all know that deep inside, she is a wonderful person who idolized her father and her family. She has been through a ton and we wish every day that she would return to her old role because R is everything opposite to what she was here. Please treat her with kindness. She is doing the best she can.

@ft I cannot even begin to answer the statement you made. The grammar is so poor that I can't understand what you are trying to express. Are you a public high school guy or a community college gentleman? I recommend that you use some of your millions to further your education.

@fh First, it is LMAO not LMAOO. Please make sure to correct your verbiage before insulting others. Second. if you speak well and she doesn't, why does she make more than you do? Why has she climbed the ladder much higher than you ever will? Why are you on the outside looking in? Don't look now but you are getting your a-s kicked by what you call a monkey and we call an executive. There is nothing better than seeing someone speak nonsense from the depths of the bottom of the barrel.

We love you Aletha! Clean house further. We will rise and make everyone prosperous. As a white person, I am offended by these ignorant coworkers and getting rid of a General Counsel from West Virginia and his ethics sidekick from Oklahoma will remedy what you see happening in our company. They have excused racism in the past and I am sure you know it. Rid us of these two. We in legal would appreciate it.

@fm

I like this attitude. I have tons of shares and would the stock to rocket up $1000 per.

More dead weight needs to go. C-level, VP's, directors, managers... anyone not on board... bye bye.

Can't turn things around until all the waste is gone.

Outsource all backbone to overseas and increase their numbers as well. The US dollar goes so much further over there.

@fj Please restrain from governmental political comments with other workers. We learned that in our business class? Woke? Make CDW great again? You need to be fired next. Just make the money and damn the politics.

Most of you are real id--ts. How do you not know these basic things/

Most of you won't succeed. That's just the truth. There are decades of stats on sales churn and as the years go by, the people left in your hiring classes will dwindle which is just the nature of corporate sales.

Some of you will last and make good money also.

The attitude of the new people though... pump yourselves up but personally I've heard all that BS from new hires before.

And for the mo--ns not believing someone tenured that worked decades in sales hitting goal not having 7 figures is funny. When you make 200-300k every year for over 10+ yrs ... what's that equal smarties.

Didn't realize the education system was so watered down these days.

Anyways good luck. I still have tons of shares and I need you all to work hard and get the stock up to $300 at least. Previous Hugh was 255...300 would be nice with increased dividends and share buyback.

@f9 certainly there are things to be fixed, but it is extremely simplistic to suggest we are all responsible for everyone else's shortcomings, especially in a large organization. My team does its job and does it well, and that is why we were barely affected at all :)

@fa They won't outsource it when we produce they results they want and even more. Rather than get scared and cry, why not perform. This is my first post and I hate to say it but you CDW employees are fu--ing babies. Please lay off all of these racist cry babies. We are highly motivated and appreciative and will kick a-s. Thank you CDW! Let's rocket to the top.

@fa Why look up layioffs.com? Really? I hope this old timers don't train us. Wow are they d-mb. You always research all aspects of a company so we come on here to understand the culture and learn more that may be beneficial. I have learned that I better bring diapers for the current workers. Stop whining and make it happen.

Miss Leahy, please fire everyone that is there now. We cant do worse than these sniveling mo--ns.

@eb seems to me you are coping bad, if you are so confident in your new job why look up the layoff forum and sift through posts? Ditto here on the pay and options and I am in the DC area. I will be joining the government business and a Georgetown grad. I heard one of the execs went to Georgetown from my recruiter. I think her name was Elizabeth. I must admit, the fact that they say on here that they use to pay 30 is a recipe for disaster. Where they hiring small college and community college students. That amount is insanely low. I would have refuted that 10 years ago let alone now. That concerns me if I joined a company that used to pay that low. Will I be working with the same knuckle dragging people posting on this site? And does the "monkey comment refer to a person of color? If so, I hope the company fires the person that wrote it. If the person no longer works here, it may be a sign of what some of the workers at CDW are like and that worries me. I would expect it from them since they were hired at such low wages. I am surprised they accepted but understand now why they all failed at their jobs.

Many decisions factor into layoffs including business needs and performance to varying degrees. While I respect the initiative of the newcomers, it is the height of arrogance to make generalized judgements against our existing employees whom you know nothing of, and a company that you also know little of because you have spent hardly any time here. Unfortunately, corporate is willing to and has terminated people who faithfully and competently served for years and it could happen to any of us irrespective of our age or experience. I hope you all will learn not to rush to judgement and to show more respect as come layoff time, when your attitude alienates your co workers, you might not be long for your role, and you won't feel great when people come to anonymously brag about taking your livelihood.

@f5 Dallas and I got 64.5 k and options. Seems we are all in the same pay neighborhood. I am excited too. For a kid fresh out of college, I appreciate it. I did work part time in sales at Dell while attending UT in Austin. My commission was outstanding but I wanted to move to Dallas where I am going to buy a house and get married in two months to my college sweetheart so I turned down the Dell offer and joined CDW. I too will bring IT.

@f2 He-l no! 30K??? I would not have accepted anything less than 70 but I live outside of Chicago so I maybe they paid me what I wanted because I live in a higher cost area. i was also given the stock options but I am not sure how they work other than they told me they mature and become mine after one year in service.

Post ID: @f5+1kx40v8n4

@f2 Good to know. I started a little higher than that on the base and some stock options as well. One time stock payment that becomes mine after a year. I won't say the actual salary and number of options. They told me I can't discuss that because it is higher than they used to pay and it is in my offer letter and contract that I cannot tell "coworkers" what I was offered and accepted. Don't blow it for us. My buddy received more than both of us but he is in a higher wage market. I heard our bonus / sales potential is higher as well. I turned down the first offer but the stock amount puts me just inside the 100k range so I took it. I is not offered the second year. It is to keep you on board and not worried about financial stress from what they told me and it is appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity CDW. We won't let you down.

New hires, accepting offers for a quarter of what the job was paying last month, coming to a lay off forum and saying "haha we got your job" is absolutely peak.

@ek Did any of the new hires start at 30 k? I am not making much but they started me at 64.5k base and a few stock options. Did they use to pay 30k base? If so, its no wonder these mo--ns are on this site telling lies and making racists comments. You get what you pay for and it seems they paid trash and received trash. Glad that philosophy has changed.

Did any of you start in the 30s????????

I don't care who you are, young or old....if you think this company, currently, is making the right moves, then I don't know how to help you. This is a sinking ship for many reasons, and until our current C level people are removed, it will continue to sink so we all need to be protecting ourselves. No one is safe under the changes that are going on now, and as long as our executives continue to refuse to take constructive criticism on how to change processes and procedures from the front lines, more layoffs will be coming, I'd bet that on Kalshi if it was an option.

I have the time since I don't need to multi task or work considering I'm worth over 7 figures. I already can tell your work ethic sux based on your posts.

They're also firing people in Asia 😉 so good luck with getting paid pennies on the dollar compared to your US counterparts.

I'm here because it's fun and I get an idea about how far things will get worse in the future. Helps when you invest in the market or bet against dumpster fires. Looks like I'll be making more money without doing much work.

Hilarious. People talking big for making $30k pretax.
