Winning ‘Best Company in Canada’ after shrinking from 35,000 employees to 20,000, spending a decade dismantling products, and still paying for awards… now that’s commitment to the wrong KPIs.
I guess the award was based on marketing, because it certainly wasn’t based on what happened to the products, the people, or the shareholders.

@h3 As a Canadian, I agree. Canadians, in general, are very ignorant of what is actually occurring around them. The country could be burning, but as long as PM Carney and his globalist friends get to carve out Canada and enrich themselves, the voters will rejoice.
As for OpenText. This company will shed all legacy products. I hate working for a publicly traded company.

@n5 Nonsense. There is no free lunch in the physical world. There's a cost borne by everything, even solar and wind, even if it's the acres of farmland denuded of life from the shade of solar panels. In reality, neither solar or wind power overcomes the cost, pollution, and energy used in manufacture. Those costs are carried by others, mostly China.
As the turbine blades and panels age and reach end of life, or break, they create toxic junk that has to be dealt with. Those batteries needed to store energy have a finite lifespan, after which they need to be replaced. Where do they go? to the third world where some poor mook busts them apart with a hammer and takes them apart in a field, gathering the good parts, and chucking the unsaleable toxic stuff in a pile.
Same thing happens in the business world, like with OpenText. The IT knackers will come and bust the carcass up. Keep the good bits and chunk the bad bits in the furnace.
