Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What META told employees

"We've undermined the trust you have that your specific expertise and contribution will be valued, that you will grow and advance your career, and that this will be a place where you can actually have an impact."

I doubt you will hear anything like that from Chuck or the new CFO.

@OP, don't care what these people say. They're just crying wolf for a show. These execs are in the positions to successfully run the companies that they're working for; otherwise, they would be out on the street as well.
On Cisco side, although I am not working there any more but I still have the company stocks, I am very disappointed that the cuts are grossly in wrong areas. They need to prioritize the cuts in middle management where a bunch of useless VPs, Directors, second line managers. These people are only good at su-king Cisco blood dry. Target any chain of command with 3-4 levels continuous of Indian names, they are mostly coming from the same village/temple - only talk, protect each other, back stabbing people considered outsiders to them, and do nothing for the better of the company.
If Chuck wants to run Cisco better, do like what Chamber tried before, 7 level of reports from him to the individual contributors ( JC to IC ;) ). Unfortunately, Chamber felt on his own Indian sword. Don't be like that Chuck!

Coming from Meta it was probably stated to calm the employees before they hit them with a su---r punch (or zucker punch if you prefer). They will probably let another 5k people go by the end of the year.

You’re quoting Meta to make yourself feel better? I’m no fan of what Cisco is doing in relation to layoffs but Meta? They’re just evil on so many levels.

"the new CFO" - that's what we should call him for now on :).

He should realize that there are people out there who loathe him.

that was the message as META booted them out the door.
The employees still lost their job, but got their knobs shined on the way out.

Wasn't this statement from Meta related to the recent layoffs the company announced due to AI advancements? I'd read that Zuckerberg's expectations of AI were higher than what was actually delivered and he felt bad after-the-fact for what turned out to be premature layoffs.

OP, that seems to be a partial statement... where they apologizing for doing this or were they merely stating a fact? If they aren't going to do anything about it who cares?

Of course you'll hear nonsense like that, but will any company behave in any way that aligns to their ideal rhetoric? nope.
