I left Target HQ 3 years ago and really want to come back. Does Target generally hire previous employees if they left on good terms? Do you have an advantage in the hiring process?

Hi, Target has rehired people who left on good terms. As someone mentioned, go through the referral process OR reach out to your previous manager and let them know you are interested in returning. I have found that the AI screening process edits out a lot of great candidates so having someone voice for you is a good thing. As some people have mentioned, the environment at Target is not great right now... Team survey results were not positive at all and there are many unhappy people. If you can do your job and stay out of office politics, you will be ok.
@da Yes, managers have a say
If you left on good terms, you probably still know some current team members. Ask one of them to do an official referral (I think it’s entered in Workday). If things haven’t changed, they get something like a $500 Target gift card for the referral after hired/90 days is complete. I’m not HR, but I think as long as skills generally seem in line for the role, the referral gives you almost a guarantee for screening. The rehire/not is just a box checked by the leader. The only “no” I’ve made was someone who would have gone on a PIP if they didn’t resign instead.
It’s a sh-t show here. Many people quitting. Why tf would you want to come back
WHY? You left for a reason, and things definitely are not any better.
@bh can confirm. 100% true
@af Does your manager choose at the time of termination if they are eligible for rehire or not?
Don’t. It’s a completely different place than it was 3 years ago.
Are you not reading the other posts? Have you not heard about the culture at Target recently? You sure you want to come back?
I’ve seen many people who have left Target get rehired. You need to have been a “yes” for rehire. Good luck.
