Thread regarding CDW layoffs

New hires posting and trashing current and former coworkers

What is going on at CDW?

We have new hires and overseas contractors fighting with current and former coworkers.

We have current and former coworkers fighting with new hires and overseas contractors.

So much for being a "family" working together to gain market share and making things better.

These are India-based coworkers/contractors. You can read it in their style of writing and tone. Ever seen an American say, "Miss Leahy" all the time? Or saying "Sirs and Maam"? Give me a break. You think 20-something American workers, in this economy, get on a board and do this sort of bootlicking astroturfing? It's so obvious what's going on here. It's the little details you can pick up reading their posts. No shot this is legitimate. Just a concerted effort to make some noise. Which is kinda working, incredibly. Just ignore them. It's not real.

The trashing still continues
People wanting to silence people is crazy.
Try that with customers that push back.
Try that with your manager that you may or may not like.

Guess everyone outside of C level at CDW is considered trash because they didn't work hard enough for the stock to not decline. 10-12 hours a day working isn't enough...they want all of your nights and weekends too now or you're considering a failure in the eyes of new people coming in.

Way to come in with positive altruist energy trashing all your coworkers. If the people who got fired were the trash...what are the current coworkers in your opinion???

@kr
I left as well but last year before the larger RIF and GTM.

You think they maybe changed comp and other things since people were also leaving on thier own?

Maybe leadership actually listened to some of the feedback and actually increased base for new hires.

I'm still invested and was contemplating dumping my shares after the 20% single day drop then share butback that boosted shares back up.

I'll be paying attention to the upcoming earnings call closely but it's hard to determine what's going on from anonymous posts on this site.

LinkedIn just shows tons of people having been cut from every part of the company and most of the new hire announcements are people saying they accepted Acct Rep positions. I don't see any or many posts about engineers or people on the services side which will be the ultimate driver of CDW's success in the future.

I do see a lot of CDW posts about Ai which is positive as they've finally got in that game. Not sure how much impact that piece will have in the upcoming earnings either.

Wish it was like how you said here.

On the sales side...the manager has his team goal and we're all on the same team but the goal is divied up by the AM's individual book of business that they have built and each person has their own Rev and GP goal.

No sharing of any $ or help with hitting goals or making it to the next tier of commission if you're a few bucks off.

Not sure how things are outside the Sales side but the team goal and all is more of a facade. Managers want everyone to hit goal bit historically CDW leadership is cool with a certain % hitting goal as the manager's comp is determined by number of his AM's hitting goal, the total Rev & GP for the team, and ultimately surpassing GP goals as that's the main thing for shareholder value (stock increasing and also dividends).

What you said in your post would be welcome by probably everyone in sales that's not Presidents Trip sales levels or the people making less than 100-200k.

Maybe the new blood can sway leadership to rethink comp so there's not people left behind who are truly trying or resentment.

A lot of times, the main factor for people doing well is the accounts they have and the potential within those accounts. Managers play a role in what accounts you may have but I've learned ultimately the people that do well also hunt for new accounts and grow those.

The above is what I've seen in my years in sales. I'm tenured and always give advice to younger hires but anytime. In the past I've seen AM's get in trouble for sharing some orders to get each other over the hump at the end of the month.

I've brought people on some of my accounts via "splits" that grow depending on how much they add to my existing business and eventually get to 50/50 on some but many don't do this as it cuts into their overall pay. Some people also don't put in the effort needed on splits which causes issues (people not equally pulling their weight).

Y'all are funny that you are going to share your bonuses with those that didnt get one. That kind of generosity only lasts until you get your first bonus. Also, it could be that the other person is a slacker that you also said you would throw under the bus. So you are talking out your butt.

For those of you who like to throw out your credentials, I went to college 10 years after I graduated from high school and graduated from Purdue with a 4.0 GPA. I made my first millions right after High School running my own businesses and I only worked at CDW for something to do. I only went to college because I got bored, and I paid cash for my tuition. I left CDW before the latest RIF on my terms to start up something new (I needed a new challenge).

For all you young kids just starting at CDW, I admire your ambition, but you have a lot to learn about corporate culture and publicly traded companies.

@kf I moved because my father died and I needed to take care of my mother and moved here to help her get through it all. Luckily CDW had this job so i took it for less money to help my mom. I owe Chris Leahy for this job and I won't let her down. Others are on here complaining about jobs that provide. They have either forgotten or don't know what it is like to not have a job. Or they are weathy, which I am not since I am in my 20s. But I promise to stack the wins like I did at my other jobs and to report all employees that don't give it 150 percent or are unethical. If we want to be champions, we have to behave like champions.

@ke Ditto here except we did shared our sales win dollars at E-plus where I served my internship and then worked for them for a year. I came to CDW because I got married and moved from California to Evanston where my fiancee is attending law school at Northwestern. So this gig is perfect and I am excited for the opportunity.

Why did you leave your companies to come to CDW and when do you start? I start in two weeks and a half.

@ka It wouldnt be the first time. I shared a portion of my bonus with team members that helped me make it and weren't bonus eligible or received a lesser percentage amount. Is that not normal at CDW for coworkers to share in their winnings and help each other when times are hard? It is teamwork 101. Leave no man behind. i learned that in the Naval Academy and after graduating and serving 3 years. I then worked at Accenture and Insight Enterprises and it is at those two places that I shared my bonus. Someone did that for me in my first year when I was learning he business and helped on RFPs, presentation decks, and pricing for one of my team members. He had a great year and utilized some of my ideas so he shared his commission and bonus the first year. It was common there and when I had a great second year, i shared mine with him and a couple of the newer guys that stayed late at times to help me. If those things don't happen at CDW, they will when we arrive. It is all about helping each other succeed and building friendships. But when we noticed people that were slackers, we reported them and ran them out. So I can't wait to start because it sounds like some of the new hires came from Dell where I have a friend that loves it there because they all help each other in his dept. We WILL change the culture and grow the revenue. We will definitely do that. And customer service will be paramount.

You going to share your orders/sales and commission?

If so...welcome aboard.

Sharing is caring. Have never seen this ever but would be a welcome change when one person has a bad month and another has a good month.

Might even be a good idea to spread commission amongst the team based on how the team performs monthly.

I just received an offer. It was very similar to what I had read on here. I didn't think it would happen since it went past the weekend. I accepted right away. Reading these posts inspire me. There will be no competition to move up other than the other new hires. The current employees should just pack up and head to wu-sy land. Thank you Chris Leahy. I am very appreciative and will work extra hours to make sure we sit at the top of the mountain at this time next year. It's what you pay us to do.

@h9 i have to correct my post. I meant Connelly hired some bad coworkers during her tenure, not Leahy. Connelly sc--wed up a bunch of sh-t when she was at CDW and the same is happening in her new role. We needed these new coworkers being hired. Now we need to let go of the low energy and low performing execs and bring in the same type of hard chargers we are hiring.

Aletha would stay! The only coworkers that don't like her are those that don't work worth a sh-t.

@ha No, you are proving mine. How well did you do when you were all playing nicely in the sandbox. One has to look to your stock price trend. Embarrassing.

Take a look to the championship sports teams and there was always some challenges internally. It helps remove the non-team members who are not performing and allows the cream to float to the top. Just ask Michael Jordan and his relationship with Pippen. Shaq and Kobe. They all won multiple championships.

I am not coming to sing Kumbayas. I am coming to deliver to customers and make money for all of us. We will even help those that are struggling. You never had teamwork. It seems CDW used to and you forgot that and started whining. That will not happen nor be accepted any longer. It is a new day. Perform and work hard or you can be damn sure that if you don't, you will be reported to HR and sent packing. Our customers deserve better and we will bring the heat. We will BRING IT every fu--ing day and night. It that means Miss Leahy gets to live in 10 mansions, so be it. She gave us an opportunity and has a difficult job and we WILL NOT let her down.

@f2 You are right about the previous layoffs and how they hired new coworkers right after but not the type of coworkers that they selected this time. I was here through all of them. They replaced trash with trash, especially Leahy's time in CWS. That was a disaster.

That said, they are finally paying more to get them going and selecting kids with a better education, energy, and skill set. I met one of them Friday who stopped by the office with his 1 year old and his wife. He was very impressive and eager to get going. He was a Stanford guy. Not too shabby!

I am with all of you new hires. I have about 5 years to go and I would love to leave with higher valued stock in my pocket. Welcome to the CDW family!

I’m with them. I was acquired into CDW. All I see from the old guard is crybabies and losers who are driving this into the ground. Replace anyone who can’t or won’t make their goal. Leahy needs help. We help her, she helps us. Fu-k you old CDW losers. You get paid, do your job.

No they don't. They show that there are new employees coming in that will put the customer first. What y'all posted on here in many posts before we were hired was much more damaging. Read them all. The customers will see that we will improve services and commitment just like some of the former employees that posted on here that we are just what CDW needed. So instead of lying to yourselves and others, grab a mop and help us clean up your mess.

The posts below show immaturity and further show CDW in a bad light.

Literally customers can read all this and this is the future they have to look forward to.

Infighting.

Nice representation of professional is on display here. No wonder there's a continuing downhill trajectory.

It's not like this was the first layoff. New hires have been coming in literally all the time since the first mass layoff and nothings getting better regardless of any of the moves being made.

I will not be called a liar. I will be at Eddie Merlot's restaurant in Lincolnshire, Illinois for dinner with my best friend on Wednesday at 6 pm. i will bring my offer letter printed out and on my cell phone. Meet me at the bar at that time and I will show your d-mb a-s. Once I prove it, you will have to pay dinner and drop 5k in my hand. I will give you what ever amount you want if I don't show it. Fu-k you for playing games and calling us liars. Show up and stop hiding behind your phone or laptop. We new hires just want to come in and kick a-s and you losers are mad and calling us liars because we are excited and ready to roll? Fu-k you weak a-s a--holes.

@bc Why worry about the astroturf? Just produce and all of the negative things go away. Do any of you just look to hard work rather than us telling the truth. Again, do any of you have any positive ideas to improve your success? Miss Leahy, please clean house. The sh-t is beyond repair.

@ew Another distraction effort. We will not discuss our offer letters any more. Believe what you want and watch us go when we get there. Change happens in who is there, change happens in offers, and change happens in results. CDW and Dell agreed to invest more in better talent. Try to deflect with more bullsh-t but seek the truth on our offers and you will find the truth. You must know someone in HR right? We aren't afraid of the truth. Ask and you shall see.

@b5 The ones left failed to elevate the others or work harder to make them succeed so we hope more layoffs are coming to eliminate these losers. Time to move forward not complain about who is left. What will you do to improve? Write those things? It is the stuff winners are made of.

Do you all not realize you are being trolled by some loser getting his kicks getting you upset? New hires don't get stock options. We don't give stock options as part of a core compensation package below the Director level.
That should have been the red flag to tell you it was fake.
It could be a competitor just stirring the pot. It could be a disgruntled former coworker who was laid off and is trying throw a bo-b into the discourse, it also could eb a current Coworkers just trying to mess with people. Either way... it is fake.
Don't get rick-rolled, trolled, catfished, or whatever else you want to call it.
Just stick to solid discussion topics and ignore the noise. These pathetic people live for the attention. Ignoring them is the way to truly upset them.

Yes comrades snitch away. You'll get some couns just like Judas.

The masses could care less what leadership is called behind the scenes.

They aren't overall good people. They're only good towards the people they like and that are in their inner circle.

How many POC were fired? They didn't just fire the non pigmented. Guess our leaders don't really care who they let go as long as it puts more GREEN in their pockets.

Just look at how CEO's divorce played out. Not one dime for her husband as she tied him up in court and he couldn't afford to battle her as she controlled all their money then he died.

Greedy heartless people. Go ahead and keep defending them. You'll learn in time just like everyone else has.

They say they are on here as part of "learning" about CDW but trash anyone with a negative opinion of what's going on in the company.

Like they know more than current and former coworkers.

Some are eagerly optimistic/positive but others are cocky.

I could care less either way.

Been around so long that I've seen and heard all of this from people before that come and go. I just stay selling, making money, and making my customers happy. Outside of this...I'm learning not to care for anyone since most of the people I know are gone. Also gone are the days I give advice to people.

Just mind my business until I don't want to work anymore in life.
