Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Applying to some jobs (IT) - what could I be in for?

The industry is tough so I’m being proactive and looking into open technology positions at Truist. Any advice or warnings to share? Keep it real with me folks!

If you don’t mind moving to Hyderabad and working in the GTC, other than that, your position in IT will be gone within 5 years.

Run away. The new IT leaders are all toxic leaders that came over from Wells Fargo. All the good leaders that were still around from BB&T and SunTrust are being forced out.

Don't bother. Look somewhere else.

This has to be a troll, no one in their right mind in the banking industry would even consider this bank, let alone IT at this bank that is offshoring faster than Amazon ships Prime orders.

It's going to depend on exactly which group you're under. My experience with Truist has been pretty good on the tech side. Good manager, good department head. RTO is d-mb but everywhere feels d-mb right now for that.

Compensation and raises aren't great by default but you can get adjustments if you're good and are willing to fight for them (I've successfully gotten 2).
