Non-unionized employees at Frontier are not protected. I was a Frontier employee who was severed, as well as others on my team. Yesterday a bunch of other non-unionized folks at Frontier got their notice, too.

So does this mean union employees of Verizon can be laid off tomorrow we just signed the agreement until 2030.

Apparently they cannot touch Frontier employees for 3-4 years as part of the deal, on our VZ employees on the chopping block.

It’s funny when I read people think they are safe because it says this or that. I can promise you. If they want to get rid of you. They will. No layoff clauses don’t mean anything. They can close down a reporting center and tell people you know have to drive 2 hours away. They’ve done it before. The union is worthless. And yes! They have been laying of Frontier people for months now. Read the actual contract agreements before you parrot what the incompetent union people tell you. Same for management. The agreement was 1 year after Verizon took it over. But, all it said was you’re guaranteed a year. If they layoff off and pay you for the rest of that year. That’s a year.

Those saying that Frontier employees are safe from being cut are incorrect. Some Frontier union contracts simply say that they have to keep the same headcount. Therefore, they can cut in certain departments as long as they increase the count in other departments.

Its the union represented Frontier employees that are protected for 4 years. Management is fair game like the rest of us.

@a4 No, they are not. I was a Frontier employee severed last month as were others in May and June.

@a4 many frontier people were let go in May. Agreement requires Verizon to honor Frontier severance and compensation within 1 year (avoid Verizon paying less)

Former Frontier employees are safe from RIFs for two years as part of the purchase agreement. I think it is two years it might be more.
