we are waiting for several month to be laid off or sold and it really disrupts the work flow and motivation, everyone is waiting so everything is very slow and unmotivated......

@j1.ADM is for sale. They had a buyer but the deal fell through. The four non core business units which were not incorporated into the new GTM F27 model (ADM, Portfolio, FAX and LT) are for sale. It's not a secret.
@ph 100% true. The UK management team was making buckets of money of milking profits from old tech that still had a customer base. Rinse and repeat model with product decisions delegated to the business units, unlike OTEX. Buying HPE was a mistake and huge distraction.
@d8 buying MF only exposed how poorly OT was being ran. Anyone who doesn't realize that is a fool.

ADM is not closing far from in fact, you might want to hear whats coming for those in ADM very very exciting times.

Let’s sack the people who develop and support products and move jobs abroad to inexpensive and inexperienced developers.

@d8, you are only partially right. Buying Micro Focus wasn’t the brightest move. Selling AMC (the most profitable part of Micro Focus) was the brutal blow. AMC raked in money and had low-overhead. The “brilliant” OpenText braintrust, led by Tom Jenkins, sold it without anything to replace the revenue to overhead difference. And here is the truly stupid part comes into play: It was offloaded because it didn’t fit into the AI narrative that OpenText’s “smartest people in the room” were dreaming about.
So, you should be asking: “Why would you buy Micro Focus, only to turn around (under) sell the most valuable piece?”

The smartest thing Ot could have done was not buy MF. That was the nail in the coffin.

I still don't understand what the point of ITOM being core is. I wonder if they arent doing some sort of a play and announcing some units as non-core while working in the background to divest things like ITOM. MF junk that even they inherited from HP that has moved little since the 80s and every move has been a PITA for the clients. All clients left are there against their own wishes due to highly regarded management on their side collaborating with even more highly regarded management on our side in a circlej--kmotion. I've seen clients on sales calls literally sit in silence as they are told how their new licensing will work because they themselves have no words to say that are usable in a professional environment.
At the end its one of two things, either theyre making OpenText light enough by selling off non-core and prepping up a dead corpse of what's left ala a weekend at Bernie's so some fool can save the shareholders from being left holding the bag or theyre going to do a fire sale of 90% off everything has to go! and pivot hard to being an AI content management company. Either way two things are, as they say, 100% agreed and confirmed right now: the board has their hand so far up Ayatollah Ayman's a-s he has to cope by performing stand up every time he's on stage with the fact he's a muppet toy and the second is they're not selling jack sh-t (Vertica was crumbs) and must be panicking because any of the plans are not executing correctly.
others units like SMBC (webroot, carbonte back up) are just sitting there too, non-core. Who is buying that in this environment? Its all AI now. I heard that unit was impacted during recent layoffs as they were non canadian employees.
OTX Board should have ditched ADM at the same time they offloaded MF’s mainframe business when it had intrinsic value.
Any due diligence process carefully applied today will show a business in steep decline.

@ay,the professional (and smart) thing to do was for OpenText leadership to keep its mouth shut about what was core and non-core. If Tom Jenkins and his cronies had any competence, they would have conducted business behind closed doors. But, here we are.
It is no surprise morale is low in ADM and the other non-core BUs after being told repeatedly they are unwanted. In ADM's case, it is doubly frustrating because during the last half of the 2025 calendar year and the start of this one, ADM had the most promising marketing and sales pipeline (of course, I do realize there is the possibility the employees were being lied to.) And no make no mistake, morale is low in the core BUs, too.
Then, there is the question of why a company would back itself into a corner by telling the world that it is desperate to sell half of its divisions? That put OpenText in a bad negotiating position. That is evident by the ridiculously low price that Vertica was sold for and the absence of a positive reaction in the market.
Tom Jenkins is the architect of this mess. He needs to go.
Stupidity and arrogance are a fatal combination for a business, and OpenText's cup runneth over.
I mean, you could just be professional and have some integretity and just DO YOUR JOB...
