Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

MBA Schedule ?

Fellow MBA’s what shifts do you normally work each week?

I now normally get stuck with 2 Closing Shifts , 3 opening shifts

I used to get 1 close and 4 opening shifts when I first moved out of being a CXM

Less closing Was supposed to be a perk of being
MBA vs CXM

And now having AYS , Jewelry and CXC’s added to my list of responsibilities is pushing my buttons

Macy’s is ALWAYS going to expect more. ALWAYS. Just when you get comfortable and are enjoying the “perks” they’re going to change things up. (BTW, I’ve never expected “perks” from a position. This isn’t Easy Street)
If you feel your “buttons are being pushed” time to go elsewhere. Macy’s pays well but expects alot. If you can’t make the most of it, move on. Sounds harsh but you have the ability to find the positives , impacting yourself and those you lead. Either rise to the occasion or find something less stressful for you.

@s8 congrats on that pay! I don’t make quite that much, but the pay is not even a real concern for me anymore. Finding something that allows me to actually have some semblance of a work/life balance is the dream. I’m seeing so many people that are overworked and burnt out. This place has become such a mental drain, I feel so bad for my colleagues and peers. It’s too much.

@j6

Biggest thing that keeps me here is my Salary it’s hard to find someone to match what I make at nearly $85,000 base and then our bonus but I am definitely actively looking for a different position or employer before they decide they don’t need MBA at all and eliminate it or something stupid like make it a captain role

I’m done trying to figure out why this company does what it does. This decision was just SO illogical and poorly thought out. It’s obvious now more than ever that they’re looking to adjust the MBA role into a more sales oriented role, and will most likely go away from the position entirely in smaller doors (similar to what we see with OOMs).
I, too, was initially worried about how holiday would play out, but honestly, I now have no intention on being here past august.
How disappointing this all turned out to be…

I’m in a small location and I, too, have inherited FJ/CXC. I close 2/3 nights per week and sometimes 4 nights if another leader is on vacation. I’ve never had the 1 night per week.

I agree this is too much and not sustainable. I did 2 nights of inventory and also manned the control desk. Being over FJ caused me to split my time with their counts and FJ. We were in the tail end of compliance as well as pushing presale for FJ clearance event. Something is going to suffer. About half the stores in my division had $0 in presale on Wednesday and the emails were not stop.

How does this work during holiday? I have one pt ast so I do quite a bit of onboarding.

Think the FJ will decline trial company because this is not sustainable

Wow, as an MBA I’ve always been scheduled 1-2 closings minimum.
Granted, I work in a smaller store, but there’s also managers in my building that don’t work past 4/5pm, so closing shifts always fall on myself and the CXMs.
