All of us basically have got three choices. Stay and take the abuse. Move up internally for a real raise. Or leverage the name on the resume and get a big bump somewhere else while Oracle still means something (it won't for long). Frankly, I don't want to stay where I'm not valued.

Stop putting up with the abuse. You cannot compete with the Indian class system within Oracle, not unless your related.... Oracle will never provide you with a cost of living increase, like most companies. You will be luck for a 1-2% increase. Your best bet is to negotiate with your boss or VP for RSU....you might get some. But they will not increase your "salary". After 7 years at Oracle and several RSU grants, I bolted. doubled my salary. I used some of what I learned at Oracle (DB tuning tricks), but I abandoned all the People Soft, EBS, Siebel software, never looked back,.

I have been here 20+ years. I would not recommend the big O to anyone as a place to work. If you do come here, stay no longer than 3-4 years and get out - and don't come back.

Erm, how many folks have been promoted but stayed on the same salary?
Never worked for Oracle, but consistently in my career every time I left an employer and gained a new one it came with a significant raise. Same work.
I would say go ahead and work towards leaving while the ship is sinking if I was in the situation.
Third choice isn't even real
Stay and take the abuse.
Stay and undermine the stupid decisions being made while doing what is really best for the business in the hope of some sanity eventually being reintroduced.
