Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

It's getting harder to ignore how backwards things have become

The employees with years of knowledge are expected to solve every problem, train new people, and keep everything moving, yet they're constantly overlooked. Meanwhile, management seems to get rewarded regardless of whether they actually understand the work.

I've been at Met for many years and always had been a high performer. There are rarely any promotions available but when there are, they go to a newer person who had one good year instead of sustained performance. Fu-k this place. I no longer give a damn. I do my job now and nothing more.

@fq but today RT and the new black jacket told everyone in HR about how super important the employee benefits trend study is! Didn't say a single word about how it's being put into action for our own employees but hey, us little people shouldn't worry our pretty little heads with that!

@dv
I think that's referred to as an azip.

ML salaries on LinkedIn are all far below industry standard. Crazy how little the c-suite cares about its employees.

@dv Ya. Just not a good fit. They want FTEs working all the time, but offshore gets a billion holidays and randomly doesn't show up for meetings and that's okay?

Forget working longer for the same pay. That's a form of pay cut.

The review system was completely random to me. I didn't even worry about it.

@ay that’s the issue. You worked 40 hours. Same as I did. But I was told in a year;y performance review and avip when they gave me negative rating and 0 raise and o bonus. The expectation was I work 60-80 hours a week like others as that’s what we are compared against. lol I pointed out the production I had was record setting on 40 so shouldn’t that be more valuable than someone who needs 60 hours to do less? He was promoted and I was let go after my hr complaints resolved. Company wants all salaried workers doing 60-80 hours.

ML could wack at least half of middle mgmt and the work would still get done. Most provide nothing of value and mainly just hamper the processs.

Worked 40 hours. Did all the work assigned to me. Did it correctly and when I said I would do it. Got blindsided by a random lay off.

As the last person said, work your wage, no more, no less. This is a paycheck and nothing more.

Yep and that's why I work my wage. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't make my boss look good, it's not worth it. Let them fall on their a$$es once in awhile, they're sure paid enough.
