@jw since it wasn;t a cost reduction exercise so they (BU heads or whatever heads you call them) can still there to pour money on their account!

Not in JH’s org but in another part of KR’s O&T so not invited. But I have a ton of questions about PE will look like in the near future. Why so many BU’s and “Heads of”under him, there are like 12 - 14 BU’s under JH?

@dn seems like big law firms and accounting firms would be eager to start grabbing former TR P/Es like those you mention…to help build internal capabilities that nullify the need for CoCo.

He comes across so badly - totally lacking in empathy as he drones on relentlessly.

I don’t understand the narrative at all. They say it has nothing to do with cost optimization, AI replacing roles, or performance. They keep on mentioning platitudes like ‘mission based teams’, ‘reducing friction’, and ‘changing the ways of working’. However, our team was already mission based, lean, and used AI heavily to speed things up. Most friction has been from getting things approved and compliance. The colleagues we lost had nothing to do with the friction and had a lot of institutional knowledge which will be lost. Also, they were already ‘AI native’ (for example, one was AI SWE, another AI Scientist), so I don’t think ‘being AI native’ is going to save anyone from a layoff. It sounds like they just did the layoff because they can and because other companies are blindly doing it because it’s the new trend.

@a1 I was specifically looking for that answer because previous comments suggested that the director level didnt know about the layoffs - so anybody familiar with your work and contributions weren't part of the decision making process.

The annoying thing was when they asked him for the metrics used for layoffs, he asked the other "leaders" to answer it.. and all they said was just bullocks
