Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Business Update: 30 Remote DTFR Employees Laid Off! YAYYYY!!!!!

Finally received my 60 day non-working notice from Wells Fargo update after a Business Update meeting in Microsoft Teams. Super excited to be moving on! Glad I stuck around in Fraud (continued working remotely) after the Relocation Strategy email from corporate in February 2024 warning of these layoffs in the future. Delay after delay in DTFR, disorganized upper managers pushing out the date further and further. Prevent AI to date was a flop (but who cares anyways). Today I am happy to announce, I am done with Wells Fargo officially. What a ride it has been! Time to collect my hard earn money while I go on vacation and sip a Colada! Cheers!!!!!!!!!

@f7 there were several discussions actually all with contradicting information. Management started acting strange around me, but I guess it wasn't nothing I did. (Nobody ever said anything to me so...

I honestly believe they upper management came in and told reporting managers for directs not to engage with anybody.

From one day to the next a switch flipped and they became all antisocial.
I'm not even with the company anymore and they still act that way. Perhaps when my severance runs out they will communicate with me again.

@gc
The people who make these decisions are too far removed from the day-to-day goings-on in DTFR/RCDV to understand what a mistake letting Portland go was. By far their best and most knowledgeable agents and leaders were in Portland. I’d say about 80-90% of remaining leadership have no idea what they’re doing, and most of the regular agents left also don’t know or care what they’re doing, lie constantly and falsify their timesheets, and have no fear of being fired. It’s a mess, and is I think one of the main reasons why the layoffs were postponed.

@cf you mean all that time they kept saying they were closing and didn't?
This while location strategy should be throughly dismantled and examined. Not just saying that just to vent. But there is some seriously underlying issue that needs to be addressed.
What if all along the way it has been carried out and everyone affected was one big mistake and it shouldn't have ever taken place?
What will happen then?

Ought to be illegal. Was strung along for two years. Location strategy over our heads. We were just expected to work until it happened I guess as if nothing was wrong.

In my case, we were moved from another location to WEC. Didn't hear anything at all for a year then right before Thanksgiving they come in and say the site was closing.

People around the table were asking all sorts of questions. One in particular directed a question about severance packages. He was told he had nothing to do with it.

I remember this. When I was laid off, guess whose name was at the top of the memo? The guy who said he had nothing to do with it. That's misleading and everything about the way it was handled. Good thing I have all my meetings recorded so I can refer back too.

It’s fraud the way they strung you folks along. Wishing the company a wellspring of innovative new fraud.

Congrats! So happy they are finally letting Portland off the hook after torturing everyone for years hoping we would quit instead of collect severance.
