Severance pay policy in the UK.

Could anyone provide information on the current severance pay policy in the UK? In the past, it was typical for employees to receive a severance package of two weeks' pay for each year of service with the company. However, I've recently heard a rumor suggesting that the current practice has been revised, and now employees might only receive one week's pay as severance. I wouldn't be surprised, considering that bonuses are non-existent, pay raises are minimal, and employer pension contributions are decreasing...

It used to be 3 weeks per year of service. Won't be surprised if they cut to one week per year.

It is what it is - a _rumor_ .. No one knows until they receive the letter. So why worry about something that you _cannot control_
