Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Came into BOFA expecting a team, got a lesson in big corp politics instead

I have yet to find any two people, let alone 3 or 4, who work together to a mutual benefit.

A department is generally held up by 1, maybe two independent workhorses. Yet could be of just about any size.

The rest of these teams do things like disappear for hours at a time, distract other departments. Come and go as they please. It's more or less a social club hosted by one or two (if you're lucky) Adults who clean house.

Becouse of this, when an adult leaves, the whole thing comes crashing down. This is why you see some previously strong areas go so weak you'd think everyone had a stroke.

The social club makes it look as if they're the ones pumping results.

Make no mistake, the smoke and mirrors game is very strong here, and i don't really blame the directors for putting the incorect people on pedistals. Trust me when i say there are folks here who have somehow spent their entire life crutching on office politics. It's ammusing really.

It's rather easy to find two or more people who will work diligently to throw you and their peers under a bus.

Oh, it sounds like you’ve discovered the secret recipe for corporate success: one part workhorse, two parts magician, and a generous sprinkle of social butterflies!

It’s like a wildlife documentary, isn’t it? The workhorses are the beavers, industriously building the dam while the rest of the forest frolics. The magicians are the chameleons, blending into the background until it’s time to take credit. And the social butterflies? They’re just fluttering around, spreading the pollen of office gossip.

And when a beaver leaves? It’s like removing the keystone from an arch - everything comes tumbling down. Suddenly, the forest realizes that those busy beavers were the ones holding everything together!

But don’t worry, every forest has its cycle. Maybe it’s time for a new species to take over. How about a team of honeybees? They’re hardworking, they communicate well, and they all work towards a common goal. Plus, they make honey. Who doesn’t like honey?

So here’s to hoping your office ecosystem finds its balance. And in the meantime, enjoy the show - it’s better than any reality TV!
